Do some fishing! like i do!, and learn from the verbal input when you get into it with the sales guy. Don't buy however!. just see what they will go too! and learn from each encounter. Be 'thick skinned', do not get upset, when you are insulted! It will be hard. Go by yourself, they will see you as a 'easy mark' to be worked. whatever you do DO NOT BUY! Be firm, but polite. You can always get out of a deal they are trying to pressure you into by saying "I must run it by my husband, he holds the purse strings! I'll be back!". Keep track of the used value of your Pilot with the various guides i.e. Kelly's, Black Book and NADA etc. which you can find on the computer, and remember! the low price the dealer will offer you on the Pilot. You are not going to get as much as you think for it (I hate to say) because of the gas crisis. So do your best to sell it privately,A.S.A.P. even hire a cheap car to see you mobile until you see a CR-v deal you think is the one for you in the fall. In spite of all this! if a factory discount or whatever! does not come about in the Autumn and you have to pay invoice! (no more!) be aware that the Honda has a low depreciation value which will hold you in stead for when you come to sell it in a few years time which will be some consolation. Martin

Hello Everyone; Just wanted to report a recent purchase of a Black / Black 2008 EX-L / Non Nav outside Philadelphia. Had a great experience at Keenan Honda in Doylestown. Delivered the car on time as promised ! Very pleasant experience ! Final Price $25,455.00 Including Destination, before TTL No surprises with fees or added charges. No pressure for add ons Got 4.39 financing from Honda based upon FICO score. Overall a great experience. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the forum as it was key to making this a successful purchase. |

| I just purchased a CRV, 4wd EXL w/Navigator over the weekend. Paid $27K + $635 dest. fees, + $250 doc fee + TTL. Can anyone provide any suggestion on if I should purchase the extended warrenty? The dealer wanted over $2K for the 8 yrs warrenty, but I refuse to pay that much. Also, where is a good place to purchase the extended warrenty? Are they the same warrenty as the one dealer sells? Thx in advance. | |

Replying to: martinturner (Apr 08, 2008 7:20 pm) Please how do you suggest doing this: "even hire a cheap car to see you mobile until you see a CR-v deal" which is a great idea!!! Thanks for suggesting it.
