Replying to: frankcario (Apr 05, 2008 3:53 pm) I paid $22,918 for it, here is the breakdown 2008 CRV EX AWD-$22918 Document Preperation Fee- $55.00 Sales Tax (8.25%)- 1895.27 License Fees- $213.00 California Tire Fees- $8.75 Out the Door Price was $25,090 I don't feel I overpaid on this car and I feel like I got a pretty good deal. Hope this helps all future V buyers! I know this forum helped me SO MUCH, so I had to return the favor. Thanks again all. Forgot to mention that the dealership itself was a no-hassle and great customer service. I was very impressed with their service compared to other Bay Area dealers. Quick, painless and made me feel good about my purchase. |

Be warned! about Walnut Creek Honda just outside of San Francisco. I told them I had a lower price on a CR-V 2WD when going there the other week and the sales guy pulled out his phone and told me to call the dealership and take the deal! when I would not tell him who offered it to me. He was starting to get really pissed off' when he couldn't 'work me'. Also they tried offering me a really low price on my trade, and he backed it up with a comparison price which he'd found on the net and printed out. However the price he showed me was for a Focus SE. and not a Focus SES which I have. He thought I'd not spotted it as he tried to keep his thumb over the word and got real snitty' when I pointed it out to him and told him that if he had given me the SES price it would have been more in line with what I wanted (in relation to what the SE price was) As you can imagine I walked out! When I do buy I think it will be from either San Leandro or Dublin Honda as they didn't treat me like a idiot. Although now retired, I've been in the 'car game! for most of my life and am aware of the ploys/tricks/stunts that desperate salesmen will pull to brow beat you into a sale!. But of course! they don't know that. Hah! Hah! Hah! ...............

I'd hate to go for 'my best deal' only to see a better one on this site a short time later!. I'm not on this planet to feed the fat face of some c.e.o. crook of a car dealership. Many car dealerships have 'mob' money behind them as it is a lucrative business to get into. ( or are you going to tell me that when you go to Vegas and spend money gambling that none of it ends up in the pockets of the mob!, come on! open your eyes up!) America is built on three things! graft! greed! and corruption! (and I am sorry for it!) and one must tread a path between all three if you are basically an honest person. You only have to look at our politicians and how they make their money, to see how this country of ours! works. Anyway enough said!. a free market will find its own level; vehicles are overpriced to start with. Remember they will charge what you willing to pay! That is what this site is all about' finding and reporting the best deal' (per sae). Have a good day. Martin.
