Replying to: buco (Feb 24, 2008 9:37 am) Holdback and other items aren't itemized on the Edmund's invoice, but those numbers are easily obtainable on this same website.. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for? regards, kyfdx

Replying to: kyfdx (Feb 24, 2008 9:42 am) If there is no difference between these two invoices, why are the itemized invoices (not the bottom line) for both not posted on the internet as "Edmund;s invoice' , etc.?

Replying to: buco (Feb 24, 2008 10:34 am) With some caveats... Holdback.. Some invoices (notably Toyota) break out this number, but the bottom line is the same.. There is an article here on Edmunds detailing holdback for each manufacturer (though it may be somewhat out of date). As far as I know, holdback on Hondas is 2% of MSRP. Regional advertising fees.. Many dealers are invoiced for advertising fees... But, since they vary by region, those aren't published by the consumer websites.. There aren't two invoices... factory and dealer... There is only one invoice.. Nominally, it is what the dealer pays the factory for the car.. There may be other numbers that you can add or subtract from this invoice to get the dealers' "true cost", and you can find out about most of those things here on Edmunds, or on the site you linked. There may be other numbers that we don't know about.. unit bonuses, etc... One other good resource is this discussion... You can read about what other buyers are paying for the same car. Which is good.. because, ultimately, even if you know what the dealer paid for the car, the only number that matters is what price you can buy it for.. Hope that helps, kyfdx Host-Prices Paid Forums

All, I'm trying to find out the best dealer offering price for 2008 CR-V EX-L AWD in the NJ state or neighbouring. One dealer in Central NJ offered around $26000 price, which means around $29000 OTD ($26000 price+$1820 taxes+$635 dest. charge+$235 doc fee+$10 NJ tire fee+$235 reg fee etc). Is that a good price? I am willing to go to MD or CT if there's substantial difference in price, however am not sure how that works out. Do I get charged another state's fees too and then NJ fee when I register it here? Is that worth the effort? Please let me know. Thanks much in advance

Why are dealer fees and profit fees added to subtotals? On what total is the state sales tax figured/ Destination and state tax are understandable. |
