Replying to: urmaha (Dec 21, 2007 4:51 pm) I live near the Philadelphia area, and looking to purchase an '08 CR-V EX 4WD though. I did get a quote for a '08 LX 4WD for 20,871 (that's without tax, tags, destination, etc). Apple Honda in York, PA quoted 21,395 (include destination) for 4WD LX. All the 2WD price quote on their table they sent says "Special Order Only". Since I'm looking for the EX 4WD, I can't really help you out. Which parts near Philly are you from? I think you'll have trouble finding 2WD in our area. |

Unless the quote is automatically generated by a computer (based on factors that were specified) for a predetermined amount, there is no guarantee that one person's quote is the same as another's. It can depend on the sales person, the inventory, choice of colors, the weather, you name it! That's why it's only prudent to get as many quotes as possible to have a baseline statistic for comparison.

Excellent Deal on '08 Honda CR-V EX-L FWD w/NAV Fellow Edmunds member "Rasri" and I teamed up (we both live in the Los Angeles area) and bought two (2) 2008 Honda CR-V EX-L FWD with NAVI in glacier blue from Hardin Honda in Anaheim, California for $27,750 (out the door) as follows: Vehicle Price w/Destination: $25,360.47 Doc Prep Fee: $55 Sales Tax: $2,096.78 License Fee: $229 Tire Fee: $8.75 I think I got a great price and am very happy with the deal. We stood firm on our price and was prepared to walk out if we could not come to terms. We had an excellent salesman (laid-back, honest, patient and knowledgeable). We also had an excellent experience with the internet sales department (very responsive and great follow-up). Rasri drove his car off the lot (less than 3 miles and with the plastic still on the rims) while mine is en route from Japan. It definitely pays to research the vehicle and get the MSRP and invoice prices from Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book, etc. I spent over 2 weeks getting over 20 internet quotes from dealers and communicating with them via email and phone (also a great way to get a feel for the dealership and how they operate). We ended up w/a short list of 4 dealerships to visit that either had the car in stock and/or were willing to pre-sell en route car. It was hard to find a dealership that had two glacier blue cars in EX-L FWD with NAV. Sorry this email is so long but I think that knowledge is power, especially when it comes to buying a car. Good luck all. |

Replying to: meisha (Dec 22, 2007 10:31 pm) I am looking for 08 Honda CRV EX in Houston, TX. Can anyone tell me what's the best deal on 08 CRV EX? I haven't gotten any quotes and not sure where to start. From the information I have seen online so far i think 23000 drive out would be a good deal. Please help! |

Just purchased an 08 CRV EX AWD from Atamian Honda. Received initial quote through the Atamian internet sales department via e-mail of $22,408 including destination (no haggling). Total deal as follows: $22,408+tax (5% of balance after trade)+ $299 doc fee + $65 Registration + $29 MA inspection sticker. Traded in 2006 honda civic ex sedan, auto. Trade value of $13,800 which was fair due to bumper needing to be replaced. This was also only a few hundred under the Edmunds fair trade value (which didn't account for damaged bumper). Lastly, they not only matched the 6% rate that I got through Costco, but beat it with a 5.24% rate through Honda (60 months). The total process was quick (in and out in under 2 hours) and very professional. Overall, I highly recommend Atamian Honda and will do business there again. |

| I've been car shopping this month, and have met some not-very-good salesmen. Today I ventured into the Honda dealership, and test drove both a Fit (out of curiosity) and an LX CR-V. I was very impressed with the salesman; he seemed like a true professional. The sticker on the CR-V said $21,900 MSRP + destination charge = $22,535. I was willing to buy the car and thought $21,300 out the door was a fair and good deal. He offered me an alternate deal, showing me some kind of invoice and claiming that it would mean a $500 profit for the dealer. That is meaningless to me, and I suspect I may be the target of everyday BS. The end price of this alternate deal is $23,545.38 out the door. The specifics can be seen at http://yana.sent.com/honda2.bmp I would really appreciate input/advice, and also want to know whether my offer of $21,300 out the door is reasonable. | |

I just leased a glacier blue CRV LX 4WD for three years 15000 miles/yr. Base price 21005 which is invoice including destination charge. Monthly Payment is $278 with $2000 total out of pocket upfront. Monthly payment includes all fees and sales tax except $75 registration fee at DMV. Money factor .0027 with residual value of 13900 (62% of MSRP). No real haggling, transaction went smooth at friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie NY. |
