Replying to: isellhondas (Nov 19, 2007 1:43 pm) You also said your service dept. had no knowledge of the CRV A/C problems!!!! I am not trying to be a smart a--...but just because your service dept. has no knowledge of a particular problem, that doesn"t mean there is not a problem. I have a 2007 CRV with NO problems, but I follow the SUV CRV forums, as you evidently do, also...but you evidently don't read the problem areas. NORTSR

CRV's do NOT have rear differental problems. Oh, I'm sure given the huge numbers of CRV's on the road, SOME have had trouble but the majority of the troubles are caused by not changing the fluid ofen enough. Any Honda tech will tell you that 90,000 is too long and 30,000 miles is better. Honda may have goofed up by reccommending such a long interval. Even so, the noise almost always go's away when the unit is flushed so it isn't that big of a deal. Another Tempest in a Teapot. But, hey, if scares someone away, oh well. As far as the A/C compressor problem. I'll same thing applies. Sure, some people have had some isolated problems I'm sure. WE, however haven't seen this. It's like you think I'm lying or something.

When I picked up the car, I purchased the extended 5-year 60K bumper-to-bumper warranty from the dealer for $626. It comes at zero deductable. Is this a good deal? In general, is extended warranty necessary for a CR-V? Please share your opnion. I have 30 days to cancel it. Thanks a lot! |

Replying to: isellhondas (Nov 19, 2007 1:43 pm) guys take it easy people in east coast with cars (sedan and vans) don't have 4WD. I know SUV has rollover problems but honda has put VSS as built in. If 4WD was must all vehicle sold in east coast should have 4WD. Also without 4WD you can't sell your car because nobody will buy it as if cars don’t stay on road without 4WD. when you add something to car maintenance will come into picture. Even my Nissan maxima has coil problem after 8 years of use (spend around $700 to change). I am not saying maxima is bad car because of one problem but you take it or leave it. BTW host has point to the thread where so many differential fluid problems where reported for 06 models but 08 time will tell. I am not bashing 4WD nor in love with 2WD but purchase 2WD according to my needs. |

| Willing to go as far south as Richmond or as far north as Baltimore to find the best deal on an EX 4wd, any recommendations? | |

I have a 2 month old Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SE with 3000 miles and I owe about $27,200 according to Nissan Payoff quote on the website.I have difficulty parking the vehicle because in my opinion the vehicle requires a wide turning radius. I'm also averaging 16 miles a gallon normal driving which is horrible. I would like to get a Honda CRV to replace this vehicle even if I loose money. I don't think I can sell to a private party since it's worth considerably less. I'm in Los Angeles. I was hoping to get some advice on how to buy a new '08 civic. I don't understand dealer holdbacks and other terminology, any advice while i'm inside the finance office? I also don't understand invoice. Any advice with a trade that will be upside down. I can't wait for the day when i can just swing into a parking spot without needing to straighten out the vehicle and park. sigh.. Also, I read a review for the crv that this vehicle is designed for women buyers. Any problems with a dude driving this thing? deperate in los angeles.

In fact, if I lived near your dealership I would have purchased my 2007 Honda CRV EXL from you, however; I live in Florida and NJ, so that was out of the question. The Edmunds forums are very informative .... a lot of people that never post...DO POST when they have a problem (certainly a lot more than if they never have a problem). I have to agree with you that of the thousands upon thousands of Hondas sold, most of them ar PROBLEM FREE!!!

I never said problems don't happen. They do with ANY make and model and I never said the problems weren't real. I just said they represented a very small percentage of production.
