do you ask if you got a good deal "after the fact that you already bought the CRV??? Be happy with the "deal" you believe you received and move on.
I think it is amazing how many people post this same request after the fact. Why not ask "BEFORE" you buy????

customer leather seats for 2007 CRV LX by subhash

I'd like to know if anybody has any experience with custom leather seat covers.

I'm planning to buy a CRV LX 4WD. But then, I also wish to have leather seats, which come only with EX, which costs much more (3K+) than LX. I really don't need the additional features EX (moonroof, 6CD, rear privacy glass, etc). The LX features are good enough for me.

So, I'm thinking if I can simply buy an LX 4WD, and then get the leather seat covers installed, which can cost upto $500 + installation charges, if any.

I could find custom leather seat covers on the internet, but apparently none had any reviews on them.

Just want to check if anybody has had experience with custom leather seats covers. Can they be installed (say, by a professional) nicely without spoiling the interior look, assuming I go for a color which matches the interior. How closely can the leather seat cover installation match the factory installed leather.

Any suggestions or inputs are appreciated.

BTW, I'm not sure if I posted this message in the right discussion, which appears to be solely dedicated to price.

Thanks,
---Subhash

Interest rates, Accessories? by wetheliving

Well, I'm really close to buying an LX 2WD now. Looks like the OTD price will end up being $22,436 not including accessories.

I want to get the console that's in the EX-L installed into the LX which they told me than can do for $395 including installation. Is that a reasonable price or should I try to negotiate down?

Also, for those of you who've financed through the Honda dealership, what kind of interest rates are you getting? My credit union's interest rate would start at 6.5% with possible discounts but still over 6%. The floor mgr. at Honda told me I have great credit, so what kind of interest rate should I hold out for if I go through them? This is the first car I'm buying and I just don't want to get scr*wed.

What do you guys think I should be aiming for on an '07 CR-V 2WD EX? Should it be somewhere in the $21-$22K area?

We have the EX,w/o leather; your suggestion doesn't work. Could it be a programming change, or is it a feature on the EX-? Thanks!

Honda CR-V LX in Arlington, Texas by char65

Hi guys:

I wasn't planning on joining the new CR-V owner's club this soon, but my beloved 11 year old Honda Civic (180500 miles) gave up the ghost on Thursday.

Tomorrow, I will be picking up my new Honda CR-V LX ($22425 OTD.) Question? It's obviously been awhile since I brought a vehicle. Is a separate security system necessary if the vehicle comes with the an immobilizer theft-deterrent system? I apologize if I'm asking this in the wrong forum.

No, you don't need a security system or the alarm. Professional thief knows how to disable an alarm even before it has a chance to go off, but it will annoy the heck out of your neighbors.

With the immobilizer, a thief can't simply hot wire a car anymore. The computer has to receive radio signal from your key for it to OK for the fuel pump to turn on.
