Replying to: carless5 (Jul 25, 2007 7:52 pm) I priced the add ons on honda.com. They total $1595.00 w/o labor costs. My dealer charged me $2527. Which means $932/labor for installation of these items. Seems very steep. I put down a $682.37 deposit on my CC. The say they will finance the $30k 5.79/60 months. Should I run away? Please reply soon as I am to pick it up on Saturday. You don't have to get the add-on from a third party. Plenty of on-line dealers sell the same Honda add-on for less, and the installation is an easy DIY. |

Just purchased an '07 CRV EX AWD (cloth, no navi) for $22,859 ($100 below invoice), plus agreed on price for one dealer-installed option, dealer doc. fee and TTL. No trade in.

If that particular CR-V is sold the next day to someone else, so be it! I am sure the OP can find another equivalent CR-V somewhere else at equal or better price. While I am sure many of us value your "dealer" perspective, I question why a Seattle-area dealer like yourself would want to "avoid these prices paid forums". You are obviously one of the most active participants in these forums! Also, I think it's okay for a potential buyer to advise others to not haggle too much... but for a dealer like yourself to do so is simply a conflict of interest. |

I purchased a 2007 AWD CRV with navigation and leather interior (EXL). The dealership and I settled at a price of 26000 which included the destination charge. Additionally, I had a trade. The trade was a 4dr gl sedan Jetta in good condition. It's the basic model without any power windows or power anything for that matter. The best I could do on the trade was 4300$ so my OTD cost was 21700. I checked the TMV value for the trade and edmunds quoted a value of 4256 for the trade. My questions are: 1) What do you think of the overall price? 2) Is the TMV value accurate? 3) I feel as though I could have received more for the trade, What do you think? Any response would be most appreciated.

I live in Boston. I got AWD (4WD) EX-L for $24,245 (including destination charge). Did I get a good deal? I also paid $1247.2 for the 5% sales tax and $379 for others (registration, doc, title, and plates). The only option I paid for was the back-up sensor, which was $697 (including labor). So the-out-the door price including the back-up sensor ($697) was $26,570. Did I get a good deal? |

do you ask if you got a good deal "after the fact that you already bought the CRV??? Be happy with the "deal" you believe you received and move on. I think it is amazing how many people post this same request after the fact. Why not ask "BEFORE" you buy????

I'd like to know if anybody has any experience with custom leather seat covers. I'm planning to buy a CRV LX 4WD. But then, I also wish to have leather seats, which come only with EX, which costs much more (3K+) than LX. I really don't need the additional features EX (moonroof, 6CD, rear privacy glass, etc). The LX features are good enough for me. So, I'm thinking if I can simply buy an LX 4WD, and then get the leather seat covers installed, which can cost upto $500 + installation charges, if any. I could find custom leather seat covers on the internet, but apparently none had any reviews on them. Just want to check if anybody has had experience with custom leather seats covers. Can they be installed (say, by a professional) nicely without spoiling the interior look, assuming I go for a color which matches the interior. How closely can the leather seat cover installation match the factory installed leather. Any suggestions or inputs are appreciated. BTW, I'm not sure if I posted this message in the right discussion, which appears to be solely dedicated to price. Thanks, ---Subhash
