I agree with #5550 - you got a nice deal on a great car. From this forum, I get that Californians are cleaning up on CRV pricing. Those of us east of the Mississippi don't seem to have as much bargaining power. I recently bought a 2WD EX-L (no nav) for 24460 + taxes & tags. I internet shopped and got only $400 better but when I contacted that dealer (who was a million miles away), they hemmed on the price. So, I was comfortable working with our local, very reputable dealer & paying the extra $400. Plus, the purchase process was a breeze. (PS - those that comment on the CRV's lack of power haven't been driving a 13-yr old Camry...for which I got a $2000 trade-in, BTW!)

NY/LI area CRV-EX-L
Fog Lights-522.30
Chrome Side Step/Splash Guard-1035.00
Roof Rack- 374.70
Wood Grain Int.- 595.00
Total before tax- $28184
tax 8.625%- 2430.87
inspection fee 10.00
doc fee- 45.00
nys tire waste mgmt fee- 12.50
Total OTD- $30682.37
oh yeah, +125.00- registration

I know people say to add-on after market but i never trust 3rd parties for add-ons b/c of warranty issues and fear of ruining my new car.)
I priced the add ons on honda.com. They total $1595.00 w/o labor costs.
My dealer charged me $2527. Which means $932/labor for installation of these items. Seems very steep.

I put down a $682.37 deposit on my CC.
The say they will finance the $30k 5.79/60 months.
Should I run away?
Please reply soon as I am to pick it up on Saturday.

Another reminder to myself why I usually stay clear of these Prices Paid forums...

Someone works a fantastic deal on a CRV and then comes here to question if he/she paid too much!

All of that stress over a few, and I mean a few, lousy dollars? Move on, life is short. Stress about the big things.

I sure don't miss living in the LA area!

You don't have to get the add-on from a third party. Plenty of on-line dealers sell the same Honda add-on for less, and the installation is an easy DIY.

I agree with in principle of what you and msg #5550 are saying and that sometimes it's just not worth the time to haggle over the last $100 or so difference. However...

The OP is doing the right thing by "sleeping over it" for at least a day... too many buyers lose sight during these price negotiations/games and oftentimes regretted their purchase. If that particular CR-V is sold the next day to someone else, so be it! I am sure the OP can find another equivalent CR-V somewhere else at equal or better price.

While I am sure many of us value your "dealer" perspective, I question why a Seattle-area dealer like yourself would want to "avoid these prices paid forums". You are obviously one of the most active participants in these forums!

Also, I think it's okay for a potential buyer to advise others to not haggle too much... but for a dealer like yourself to do so is simply a conflict of interest.

Let me know your thought on the overall price by 1277

I purchased a 2007 AWD CRV with navigation and leather interior (EXL). The dealership and I settled at a price of 26000 which included the destination charge. Additionally, I had a trade. The trade was a 4dr gl sedan Jetta in good condition. It's the basic model without any power windows or power anything for that matter. The best I could do on the trade was 4300$ so my OTD cost was 21700. I checked the TMV value for the trade and edmunds quoted a value of 4256 for the trade. My questions are: 1) What do you think of the overall price? 2) Is the TMV value accurate? 3) I feel as though I could have received more for the trade, What do you think?

Any response would be most appreciated.

AWD (4WD) EX-L for by bargainer

I live in Boston.

I got AWD (4WD) EX-L for $24,245 (including destination charge). Did I get a good deal? I also paid $1247.2 for the 5% sales tax and $379 for others (registration, doc, title, and plates). The only option I paid for was the back-up sensor, which was $697 (including labor). So the-out-the door price including the back-up sensor ($697) was $26,570. Did I get a good deal?

do you ask if you got a good deal "after the fact that you already bought the CRV??? Be happy with the "deal" you believe you received and move on.
I think it is amazing how many people post this same request after the fact. Why not ask "BEFORE" you buy????
