Replying to: asearch (Jul 19, 2007 10:47 am) unless the 08 has a bigger sticker price, which given the current demand that is entirely possible, and so the end result is that the 07 discount may not amount to much as the inventory quickly drops. I hope so, but I don't know how much of an effect we will see. If there was a larger inventory the discounting would be more predictable. regards. |

I just got a pretty good deal on a 2007 2WD LX: $19750 + a processing fee of $99 + taxes & tags. OTD price was $21,510 (that's with DC sales tax of 7%). What's more, I was out the door in about 90 minutes with no hidden fees and no arm-twisting. I did all my searching via the internet, but the responses I got from DC-area dealers were pretty unimpressive, plus they wanted to tack on high processing fees, or ridiculous "accessory" fees. I read on this forum that someone had had a good experience with Heritage Westminster Honda in Maryland. I had no idea where that was, but I sent them an email asking for a quote. I got by far the best price from them, with no bogus extras. The salesman seemed straight up and the price was great, so even though it turns out Westminster is 60 miles from DC, I decided to go with them. Saved ~$1000 over the next best price quote I got. (I arranged my own financing and didn't trade-in, so can't comment on that part of the car-buying experience.) I highly recommend Joe Ski, Heritage Westminster Honda. A pleasure to work with. |

Purchasing a CR-V and trying to get a really good deal is next to impossible - this is because sales of the CR-V are up 53.2%. Dealers are not willing to let go this model because it is selling so quickly. What was shocking to me is that the CR-V is selling for as much as some Pilots. lev Pilot sales are off 12.8%, and dealers are trying to move them because of the fear of rising gas prices. Anyone know of dealers in the NY/NJ area that are giving great deals on CR-V during the Clearence now going on? FRED |

| Last weekend in San Bernardino, we paid OTD 23,600 for a 2wd no nav and cloth interior with EX trim. That was a tough negotiation, the two large dealers in SoCal didn't have Glacier Blue in stock and one dealer did but his vehicles had extras that we didn't want to pay extra for. | |

Los Angeles here, Just decided I'd throw down for a CR-V after passing a few shiny '07 on the road this week. I sat down and started negotiating from invoice (realized after reading through these threads that I should have not budged from invoice). The dealer had to go to another dealership to get the model I wanted (2WD EX-L Silver without Navi). He started saying that the model he was getting from another Dealer had "pro-pack" options installed??? Flaps, Cargo net and wheel locks and mentioned that this was about $500-ish extra. I told him I didn't want any extras and long story short settled for about $115 above their invoice price of $23,885 (basically $24,000 pre TTL). So out the door price came to $26,500. Now, I haven't signed anything because I wanted to sleep on it and they had to drive the car over from the other dealer, but what do you guys think? I feel like I could definitely shave off $500 from the OTD price (bringing it to an even 26K, but maybe even more? Is $25,800 too much of a low-ball offer? After reading some of these amazing deals you guys pulled off (invoice or below invoice) I feel like I am breaking the curve here. Plus I didn't even think about the fact that '08 are coming in soon. Talk to me folks! Thanks! |
