I'm a newbee to the site and I haven't found a hit on here for San Diego CA but pardon me if it's already been posted. Wanted this forum's opinion on an offer. Honda CR-V 2007 EX 2WD, Glacier Blue/Gray Int Roof rack Running boards OR black side steps Cargo cover Trunk tray Wheel locks Splash guards OTD $25,000 (my tax is for San Diego, California) Any thoughts? I figure tax+licensing is about 9% here which equates to ~$2000 therefore the asking price is about ~$23000. Let me know if you know if anyone else who got a sweeter deal within the Southern Cal area. Thanks. |

I am purchasing a CRV for $21,900 before all fees and taxes. Now I understand they can really stick it to you with all the fees. What should I know about all the fees they can legally charge me? And of these fees what $ amount can they charge me and what is negotiatable.

Replying to: oli1 (Jul 18, 2007 11:13 am) state sales tax title license fee state inspection doc fee (only $50 in my area- you may be able to get them to drop this one if you agree to handle the paperwork yourself) some states charge an inventory tax (I think it is also negotiable) You do not have to pay fees like: VIN etching dealer prep (or just about anything that says dealer in front of it) advertising fees port fees If you call your tax office and give them the selling price, then they will tell you how much you should pay for ttl. Hi, I'm shopping for a CR-V 2WD EX and one of my local dealers quoted me a price where he said invoice for a a 2WD EX was $22059 whereas edmunds and kbb both say invoice is $21846. When I asked him about this he said that Honda was now has a 1% dealer advertising fee for all dealers in California. Has anybody else heard of this?

Replying to: pmarcos (Jul 18, 2007 6:43 pm) And regarding the 2008 CRV, I found a vehicle review article here: Autoweek.com Article -- 2008 CRV I wonder if they really reviewed the '08 model. It doesn't cite any differences (other than price) between '07 and '08, but I would think there are some. Does anyone have other sources on this? By the way, I'm still undecided on the CRV, but if any dealers or Honda executives are lurking on this message board ... consumers are tired of the car-buying "game"!

Replying to: wetheliving (Jul 17, 2007 6:25 pm) The 08 CRV body shape shouldn't change much or no change at all. It should least for a few years. This applies to all cars. The best thing is you don't have to buy it now, so hang on to your 11 yrs old car.

| Hi all! I was seriuosly jerked around by several dealers, but I am now the happy owner of my 07 CRV w/ Navi. I love it!!! Paid sticker price, purchased in January. At first the gas mileage was way lower than expected, but now that it's broken in a little bit I am getting about 27 mpg! Love it. | |

I've noticed dealerships (especially, Honda) will try the "Advertising Fee" on you to see if they can get away with it. When you start walking the "fee" suddenly goes away... I'm waiting for the fee on the full tank of gas... |
