Replying to: sealy (May 30, 2007 8:27 pm) This is just an update incase anyone's looking in SC area. Mike Patton of LeGrange GA is still honoring the OTD price for EX 2wd of $22,521 (excluding SC tax of $300). I got a local dealership here in Columbia (Midland's Honda)to meet that price!!!! I'm going today to hopefully sign papers. Will keep updated.

I went out last weekend to buy two cars; a Civic LX and a CR-V LX 2WD. After much haggleing I made an offer of $36,000 for both and they declined that offer. They came back with $17,698 for the Civic (sticker 18,355) and $21,171 for the CR-V (sticker 21,350). Are they just trying to get as much from me as possible or was I way off base. I spoke with a freind who used to sell Hondas adn he said they were crazy to not take my offer Any comments you have would be appreciated.

The OTD of 23300 that I had was the final price, which included everything. I am planning to wait until the 08 model comes out and buy the 07 model. Maybe it'll be cheaper?

Replying to: mmgcrv (Jul 12, 2007 6:34 pm) I followed the strategies; emailed, offered and negotiated… the dealer said I offered too low. They said if I didn’t buy it, somebody else came in next day would buy it for they price they wanted to sell. Then I walked out, and nothing happened. They didn’t try to sell the car to me in a low price because they could make money of it from other people quickly. If the CRV was not the 1st year model, we could use those strategies to get a good price. At this point, I guess maybe wait for a few months. The price is going to get better maybe slowly. The price will not rise. That’s for sure. Btw, I am in NJ. So envy those people in CA. invoice price is acceptable for me…

Replying to: asearch (Jul 17, 2007 9:40 am) MA sales tax is inevitable. Is there room in the doc fees? I don't know. Also thinking about waiting 'til '08 and buying leftover. Thanks. |

Replying to: asearch (Jul 17, 2007 10:10 am) I'd love to wait awhile to buy a CRV, unfortunately my car (Saturn sedan) is 11 years old and though tt's been a very reliable car, I don't know how much longer it's going to last- at least without having it serviced and I don't want to put a bunch of money into it. Someone mentioned waiting for '08 models (I've seen a couple people mention that) to get an '07, but I asked if any changes were being made for '08 and they told me no since they don't change body styles for a few years and that it'd be exactly the same- but I wouldn't be shocked if they lied to get me to buy now. I haven't read anything official about "'08 models" though; anyone know the real deal?
