Just bought a CRV LX 2WD in DFW TX by zoelee

CRV LX 2WD, $229,000, including TTL and some dealer's add on (window tint, paint and interior fabric protection package). I also have a trade in, it's a 1999 Honda Civic LX with 99,000 miles, scratch on front bumper, tiny tear on rear bumper, and a 10x10 inches wreck toward the back and right of the body.), they only give me $1,100 which breaks my heart. It's a great car with no mechanical problems and runs great. CarMax gives us $2500 but we didn't want to take it believing it's too low.

So all in all my OOD price is $21,8000 (after the trade in). Is this a good deal?

The dealership is David McDavid of Frisco TX.

TMV price is about 21,000 less your trade 1100 = 19900 + 6.25 tax = 1244........19900+1243= $21143 So.....I would grind another 600 out of them. Remember the Dealer cost is only $19800. Hope this helps.

thanks blufz1 for your quick reply. But what is TMV? And does the adds on make our deal less sorry?

Look at edmunds.com. They have the invoice price and incentives by model. The TMV price is what other buyer's are reportedly paying. You can print it out for reference. The add ons have nominal value.

Can I back out of the purchase? by zoelee

I'm having second thought about the CRV I bought yesterday. Can I back out? I don't see any contract we've signed that states that we can't.

If backing out is allowed, how much time we have to do so? Do we need to give a reason?

If it's a lemon car, you can back out.

I just drove it briefly for less than one hour and it seems to run fine. Does that mean as long as it has not running problem, I can't back out simply because I find a better deal elsewhere?

I've also been trying to get a CR-V in the D/FW area...

Working backwards on your deal...

22,900 OTD
- 225 doc fees (average in TX)
- 1333.82 taxes -- math->([22,900 - ((22,900 - 225)/.0625)]
========
21341.18 (your selling price ~ roughly)

MRSP on CR-V LX 2wd
20,600.00
+ 595.00 (dest)
========
$21,195.00
