I just purchased a CR-V EX-L for $24,700 plus destination and taxes. Pretty pleased with the deal. Went around to a couple of dealerships -- most would not budge, but I was insistent. Excited to get the car! This is a AWD btw.

I have an offer for this model at $22695 in Seattle area. Is it a good price? Does everyone has known how much should I ask for this model OTD? Is there everyone looking for similar model in the same area? I asked for a quote from other dealers too. I couldn't find anyone lower than that price or haven't got any email back from them. I am so stress out. Looking forward for your input. Thanks!

Well, MSRP is 21195 (invoice is 19656) so it looks like they are marking it up 1500 over MSRP...so I'd start looking out of state or wait until the market in Seattle cools down.

There are two schools of thought on this and one is certainly yours. The other is to never make a first offer because you are establishing a ground that the dealer knows he will not have to go below to make the sale.

When buying my 06 Accord last April, I did a bit of a blend. I consulted this board and my fighting chance packet and came up with a number which was as low as anyone had said they had paid. I think (don't remember exactly) $50 or $100 off that price and sent e-mails to dealerships stating that I had a quote of $X and would they be willing to match or beat it. Some said no way, but one dealership "matched" it, and all you need is one. They did want to know where the quote was from and I said I didn't feel comfortable telling them that but that it was in the Chicagoland area (but that their dealership was closer to home), and that was that.

It worked well for me, and hope it will again for my eventual C-RV shopping. I'm definitely taking a wait and see attitude now though. I want to see what happens to the price when US production is full steam - I'm thinking summer for me.

Where can we find correct invoice for this model? Edmunds claim the invoice to be 22,244$.

Considering VA has 3% taxes, how much should the car OTD be on the road? Can there be negotiation on Freight(what is this?) and Destination, Handling Charges?

Much appreciate if people shed their inputs

bmwguy23!
Thanks so much for your input. Actually, the $22695 includes destination charge plus TTL. It is the total price the dealer gave me. I haven't negotiated with them back yet. I am not sure how much I should go down from that amount. I have been thinking of $22000 OTD. Thanks!

You have to be careful...that Edmunds invoice does not include destination (same as freight)...

Your price should be invoice plus some negotiated amount plus that amount times 3% for taxes plus any license fees.
