Replying to: bghunter (Dec 25, 2006 8:38 pm) I am buying my first car, and I need some help. 1) I got a quote of 23,650$ OTD for CRV-EX (non-leather) including Taxes (Virginia has only--3%tax) How much can I bring the dealer down? 2) I am looking to install GPS on the new car (EX-L model goes upto 27k). I guess this is an open ended question but I am thinking where would be the best place to get the GPS, and installed in the new car? I can spend upto $1000 for GPS. Thanks

Replying to: suvpassion (Dec 27, 2006 12:07 pm) That sounds a little high for the CRV-EX OTD price to me. I got the CRV-EXL (with leather) OTD price at not much higher than that, and there is supposed to be about a $2000 difference in price, so the dealers say. Sales tax in Texas is 6.25%, so factor that difference in too. I definitely wouldn't pay over $23k for the EX. Good luck!

| I got it for $23,188 including destination, before tax, title,... It might be little bit more than $23,100 posted from other thread but I am happy I got it. Also, I had to pay $125 for doc fees. The dealer was Honda Barn in North Reading. I strongly recommend this place. It might not be the cheapest but they are very easy to deal with. I was able to make a deal in 1 hour. I am picking my male menopause toy on Friday. This forum helped me a lot on price and dealership selection. I hope this helps others as well. | |

Replying to: suvpassion (Dec 27, 2006 12:07 pm) it does make sense to get model without navi if you're budget conscious (like me), plus you get to have your navi system wherever u go. but that EX-L with navi looks so awesome, i must say! anyway, check out message #3993 re: gps system--very helpful for me. garmin nuvi system appears to get more votes...

Replying to: bghunter (Dec 27, 2006 8:09 pm) Thanks a lot for replying and helping me out.. I really really apprecaite it So it looks like CRV-EX should be less then 23,600$ for sure. Wooooooowww. Could some of you tell me what/how should I put this in front of the dealer? I told him that I need the car for invoice price(edmunds says crv-ex invoice is 22,244) + 600 taxes + approx. 200-300$ freight, handling etc. So total for CRV EX comes to 23,650$. What should I think/do and tell the dealer for counter deal this price? PLEASE HELP |

I lived in Texas and would like to get a EX-L AWD but unable to get a decent quota from the dealers nearby. could you please pass me the dealer and salesperson contact information? (I can be reached by email ac at carspace) many thanks. Alex |

for those of you looking to buy, i'd just like to offer some friendly advice. instead of asking dealers for quotes, i recommend a different tact. every dealer is scared silly of sending out decent quotes for fear that all you'd do is shop his quoted price around...admit it, you would! (i know i would) i recommend: 1. figure out what you want to pay and what you're willing to pay (two different things) 2. then, choose the dealership(s) you most want to buy from and email the fleet/internet manager with your offer. be very specific but firm, e.g., "i'm interested in buying a new 2007 CR-V EX-L AWD in green tea metallic. my offer for that vehicle is $24,700 (including destination but plus TTL). if that price is acceptable to you, please contact me immediately as i am ready to buy. craig v. crave (345) 786-8xxx" 3. i'll practically guarantee that you'll start generating some genuine interest this way. if not your offer price, you'll probably receive at least a few competitive counteroffers for you to ponder. |
