Replying to: bullfrog34 (Jul 12, 2006 10:20 am) I also received two more quotes after my purchase and they were 23,600. (was glad they were more than I paid) I was able to negotiate some add ons with my price as I drove home the show room model (which had been on their lot since May according to the checklist in the manual they completed). So I got a lot of extras (splash guards, pin stripe, chrome running boards, luggage rack, Metal trim kit, cargo mat) for a reasonable additional cost because they wanted to move it. Unfortunately for me I was caught purchasing after the $750 rebate - and before this new financing deal, which it sounds like you will be able to take advantage of, so that's great! Overall though, sure, I would have loved to have saved another $500 or more, but I've been thrilled with the 2000 CRV that we still have and that difference in price wasn't a make it or break it point for me. The TIME and EFFORT I would have had to put into trying to get a lower price was more important than a few hundred dollars more off the invoice. I suppose it depends on how long you want to wait, and if as they (CR-V's) sell, the demand starts to go up more in the area so will the price. In 2000 I got a good deal, but not as much off as this time. Back then I got lucky and purchased one of only 2 CRV's on the lot, which had been delivered only the night before (still had plastic wrap all over it) This time I was able to do better as the demand issue is lower at the moment, but of course that can change as we get closer to the 2007 model year.

Replying to: darlingcrv (Jul 13, 2006 6:20 am) $23,510 Invoice + $550 Destination Charge + $500 Dealer Profit $129 Doc Fee = $24,689. Apparently, Last month, they would have taken $500 off that price, as Honda had been allowing Dealer incentives for the Western States. I'm not sure I can do much better around here. I've lost a little bargaining power since I want an 06 and the last shipment is coming in. They haven't had any problems selling the vehicles, either. I wish I could do better! The last Shipment comes in at the end of the month.

Appreciate all the help from this forum, and wanted to give something back. Quotes I received in mid-July in Philadelphia area: $19,300 $19,375 $19,500 $19,655 $19,904 $20,150 We went with Sussman and are very happy with them. Freed had the high price and wouldn't budge; Conicelli made a bunch of noise about needing to see someone else's quote; Mike Piazza Honda wanted a deposit and never could find the car I wanted. At times when dealers need to move the old models off the lot you don't have to do any of these dances with them. One dealer told me the 2007 would not be coming until November. Don't believe the hype. August is what I hear. If you still want the 2nd generation 2006 model, deals should be easier and easier to find. My advice is to find a dealer that puts their inventory on the internet, and make sure they have one or two of the model and color you want on their lot. When you ask them to bring one in from another dealer, they ask for a deposit, and/or more money. Be sure to ask for the internet department. I prefer to work purely by email for a while, and then reward them with a call when they offer a serious price. It often helps to tell them, hey, I read about $19,300 on the internet. Anyway, we got our color, Red, and one from Japan (VIN starts with J) for $19,300 (this includes $550 delivery). Just add tax title license and you're good. Also, other than the trailer hitch, I think its often easier to just leave accessories out of the car, then buy them later from hondaccessories or handaccessories. You can check the installation guide and decide for yourself.

| Emission light came up after 600 miles new car; followed user manual guidelines; it went away. Then it came back together with the trumbling of car. Dealer claimed car is running in 3 cylinders because one fuel injector was out. How can this happened in a prestigious car like Honda? Dealer unknow the cause; possible fuel (like stories of others - dealer point to gas quality; gas point to car manuf). I feel this is some safety issue that should be reported. So far no records are reported on this. Honda had legal issue with EPA could this be the result of emission improvement? | |
