I am shooting for almost exactly the same car as you are except w/o security system. The dealer told me the car's VIN begins with "J", which means it was built in Japan, rather than England. Hopefully, it is more reliable. I checked the new CR-V inventory in my nearby dealers' website. All 06 LX model CR-Vs are built in Japan, but some EX and SE models are from England.

As I posted in my previous message, I was offered 20154 + 499 + TTL for a 06 LX AWD CR-V. Here in Florida, it seems the dealer fee is not negotiable at all.

jinva,

Does your 20,165 base include the destination charge? What kind of documentation fee did you have to pay? I am about to pull the trigger on an '06 LX 2WD (Red) and will consider Herson's.

Looks like first batch are from Japan. Dealer's inventory is not up to date and most of them is like on-the-way vehicles.

You are paying over $150 invoice with non-negotiable dealer fee. Price seems to be fair at this time of year.

Anyone has any update on baltimore mess??

Not sure if you've found one yet. I was also looking for an EX with stick. The '06 quotes were ranging from 22650 to 22850. Then I was lucky enough to find an '05 on one of the local dealer's lot, and with a bit of a struggle was able to buy it (including dest. charge) for $21,000, or $437 below invoice. (Cash, no trade-in). This is in the San Jose, CA area.

Good luck!

Not yet, although work demands have forced me to suspend the search. I hope to jump back into the fray soon.

You negotiated a terrific price, BTW. Hope you enjoy your new vehicle. Please post your experience with it to the main CR-V board.

Is this an 05 or an 06 CR-V that you bought ? We were looking a few weeks ago for the same exact car you bought and 2 dealers in Northern Virginia ( Landmark H and Bill Page H) would not negotiate the price i.e. they were offering it msrp price ( 26K+TTL+..I think). I have suspended the search since, but I may pay a visit to this dealer you bought from since I work in Maryland. Would it be better to buy it from MD rather than VA. Dealers in NVA jack up the price to maximize profit or to make that boat payment :- )

Stavi -

No, the base does not include the $550 destination charge. The doc fee is $100. To be clear about my deal, it was originally for an '05 that was supposed to come in, but didn't. So they offered me the same for an '06. I did find that, of the 3 dealers I visited, they had the best pricing & were the easiest to deal with. I suggest going on their website and asking for a quote for the vehicle you want from internet sales. My deal isn't done yet, but, so far, the experience has been very good. Good luck.

This is an 06 that I brought. There are two dealerships that I would recommend O'Donnell Honda located in Ellicott City, MD and Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville, MD. If you have a Sams Cub membership, you can very close to invoice price. I visit O'Donnell in August, and informed them that I was a Sams Club member and they quoted me a price at invoice. This was on a 05 CRV SE - Taffeta White. Also, at O'Donnell, you received the vehicle they way it come from Honda. Accessories like mud packs, wheel locks are not added. For me that was less items to try to haggle over.

My preferred color was the Sahara Sand. This color was scarce in the month of August. I decided to purchase an 06. I spoke with the internet person at Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville, and informed them that I was a Costco member,
He informed me that they were expecting their 06's in couple of weeks, and he gave me a quote of $100 over invoice. I thought this was excellent. I went for it.
I placed a deposit on 9/8 and on 9/28 I received my vehicle. E-mail me and I can tell my experience with the other dealerships and the individuals to talk to at O'Donnell and Jim Coleman.
