Replying to: mikenj (Dec 13, 2004 7:22 am) I'm also shopping around at Metro Honda (Jersey City), Potamkin (NY), and Bay Ridge Honda (Brooklyn). I've been steered toward the last two by Carsdirect... and am considering buying directly through Carsdirect as well. Though I think I might be able to do better than $20,565 straight offer by Carsdirect, I hate haggling and I've bought my family's previous car (02 Camry) through them before. Thanks for any input or opinion on this matter. |

Purchased the car yesterday in central NJ. The best quote I got was around $18500 including dest. charge (500 below invoice). I thought the price was good so I did not even bother to negotiate. The experience was pleasant.

Replying to: terry92270 (Oct 18, 2004 4:33 am) the 2005 Lx, 4WD, Cr-v, auto to me at 19,500. he will put a temporary tag on it, and then I drive back to NY. I will regisiter my vehicle in NY and pay NY's 8.25% tax. The guy said SUV was not so popular in DC area because of warmer weather than in NY and CT. So, the total price (excluding insurance) is aroud: $21300 do you guys have this experience before, can I trust him. He may ask me to fly there and then negotiate with me based on the fact that I am from NY, and already paid some travel fee. Also, what tricy they are playing??? thanks in tons.

Replying to: luwangming2001 (Dec 30, 2004 3:27 pm) 18,925 for an LX 4WD silver. So I end up paying 20908 out the door. Because I don't have enough credit history the offered me 4.9 in the beginning but I got it for 3.9. I could go to a different dealer but it's hard to believe they would have match the price. I put down 1000 and now I'm stuck for 5 years with 365 a month. The dealer is in Michigan (kind of far from you) and the secret in getting a very low price is not to talk with a sales person. Cut the middleman and ask for the person who can take a decision in that dealership. Actually I would recommend to everybody to buy James Bragg's book. It's the guy that founded fightingchance.com. I paid $17 for the book and save myself thousands buying a new car. |
