I had mentioned to my service manager last time I was in about some warranty issues. Our Sorento is running great after two years, no mechanical issues at all. but we noticed a couple of things and this dealership really wants to make its customers happy. I asked them 'hey whats the catch'. Our gray leather front seat outside bolster is wearing down to bare leather ( it looks like the leather dye (gray) they use is wearing off turning brown ). They are ordering new replacement covers. Front grill was chipped from the the flying stones you could see the chrome under it as well as getting these spider webbing pattern. Usually that is not replaceable as it is considered regular wear and tear. New grill ordered. All four tires are wearing on the inside, so they checked the alignment and the balance of each tire and wheel and all is well within specs even the alignment is dead on. They said to keep on eye on it and try to notice any more wear. They will check it again at next oil change. the service manager said he would contact the local service rep but the rep seems to be dragging his feet so the manager took it upon himself to take care of our issues. Kind of glad we went with KIA. Very happy with this dealership. I really never expected this service. Even our up scale Subaru dealer never did this thats why we trade in our POS Forester.

I have an '03 sorento. I'm on my 4th time at having the rotors turned. Although I have over 85k on my car, I still shouldn't have to turn them so often. I think they are weak. How 'bout anybody else? Otherwise I have no problems. Love it.

I don't know how many I and my dealer have sprayed or greased the door hinges. I still get the noise when close/open doors, especially both rear passenger's doors. The noise only gone for few weeks after spray or grease. I read somewhere about the door checker assembly. It looks like made of heavy duty plastic/vinyl. My dealer insists this is the way and they can always spray them. Folks... any suggestion? I own Honda and Toyota for years and never have such problem. |

Replying to: nutin2it (Sep 30, 2004 8:39 pm) lok888 on the rear door guides that are made out of a heavy plastic. They really are not the hindges as there are two hindges per door. Its some type of door guide and stop. Ours also moans and groans once in a while. I usually spray lithium grease or a moly ( moly something or other grease that I can't spell). Clean off the old grease and apply new stuff to the top and bottom side of the guide and wipe away excess. Spray some inside the door receptacle and then open and close to work it in. I do this about once every six months. I have the same problem on my truck and our old Forester we had.

I have a Sportage and have been very pleased with the little SUV. However, the service department where I purchased it was terrible. I am considering buying Sorento, at another dealership. My question is: If you were buying would you buy a 2005 Sorento or should I look at something else? Please be honest.
