I haven't had one single problem with my 03 EX TOD. Oh wait a second. At one of my oil changes, I asked the dealer to adjust the cover to one of my power ports because it was hard to open and I wanted to charge my cell phone. That was the longest 2 minutes ever. Ha ha. I am thrilled with my car. I thought about getting a Trailblazer but I didn't want to deal with the extremely large quantity of recalls and TSB's. Guess I made the right decision. Sorry to hear about your issues. Maybe your car was made on a Friday.

I also have a EX 4x4 with luxury package. It has over 21K miles now. There have been several issues but dealer has taken care of it. So far, I only paid for oil changes, other maintenance and aftermarket stuffs. I looked at the label at the door. The manufacture date looks like a Saturday. Sometime, the suppliers could be the blame.

Replying to: farru21 (Jul 17, 2004 5:04 pm) Here is an update to the issues:   Transmission problems have 'increased' since the new one was installed. Now the car vibrates (suddders) as it moves at low speeds. It is alomost like when the univeral joint on shaft is busted. Dealer is now having a Kia engineer come down to inspect vehicle and make recommendations as to what to fix next.   I have the pictures of paint overspray on the calipers, if anyone is instersted I can e-mail them.   Spoke to Kia customer care, pretty much same run of the mill stories.. They just apologize that such issues are happening and that is all.   The high pitch noise is even the car is running idle and parked. I have no idea where that comes from. It is not a wind noise rather mechanincal in nature.   I am beginning to suspect that the dealer knew of the issues with this specific Sorento. If a car had 134 miles at the time we bought it, surely the people that drove it must have noticed something wrong with it including the sales people??   The car is going back to dealer on July 30th when the Kia engineer is scheduled to arrive. I will post his assesment then.   Frank

Hi all,   I had no major problems since I have my Sorento. But now, since some weeks, I have 2 problems.   1- When on Defrost, my windshield cracks! Anyone have an idea of what causes this ??!   2- My brake pedal do some noise (sometime, not always), which I didn't have before. It's when I brake hard arriving at a stop and then release the brake pedal that I hear that sound/noise.   If anyone have/had these problems, please let me know. I have not brought this issue to the dealer yet. BTW, my '03 EX has over 21,000 miles now.

About the windshield cracking... don't seem to be the windshield.   hciaffa Sep 8, 2003 12:33pm!keywords=allin:msgtext%20limit:Kia:Sorento%20windshield   In 2003, there was no fix. Hope Kia found a fix in 2004. I will need to talk to my dealer about this issue.

And you see a crack when you start the car on cool morning or turn on the A/C or defrost.   I do hear some tiny cracking sound when A/C is in defrost mode. Sometime is hard to hear due to the surrounding, car noise or traffic. Some posters have mentioned this before, but I can't think of any fix for this.

Slan we hear the same noise but most of the time its in the winter. I don't think it is the glass but more so the duct work or the palstic vents by the windshield as it expands and contracts. I have tried to pin point the sound and it seems to come from within the dash and it almost always happen when the defroster is on. In the summer we hear nothing. As of yet there is no service bulletin as not many owners have complained. From the forums here and at the other Sorento forum I beleive only one person has had the glass changed out and she never reported on it.
