I recently replaced my tires with used ones. All four of them where the same size. They were different manufactures, the two in the front were Goodyear and the two in the rear were BF Goodrich. In about a week, I noticed a strange noise coming from under my front end. When I took it to the dealer, I was told that the front differential had burned out because my tires where more than a half inches in circumferences of each other. Therefore, the warranty was voided. Replying to: military (May 05, 2009 3:41 pm) you should always match the tire size and tread life, if you have a TOD AWD Sorie....believe the owners manual also states the same...if in fact your dif is blown...and you have TOD...be prepared for an expensive repair bill the dif alone is almost $3.5K, then labor   though you bought the same size tires....they were apparently different in tread remaining....thus the difference in diameter of the tires..leading to the dif failure...the warranty isnt voided....they simply arent honoring it due to the failure being caused by dif tire diameters.....you may in for a battle to convince them otherwise....goodluck!!!

Replying to: kiabusted (May 15, 2009 1:20 pm) my sorento was stuck in 4wd low and would not go back to normal 4wd.How i resolved the problem was by going back in reverse and dack in to drive and go foward a litle, i had to do this a few times and it came back to normal.  Hope this is of some help. I have a leak in my rack and pinion seal that is seaping through my tie rod boot. Is it possible to just replace the seal, or do I have to replace the entire rack? Replies to this message: puglover0101 (May 31, 2009 4:46 am)

I HAD BOUGHT A BRAND NEW KIA SORENTO (MANUAL TRANSMISSION) 2007 MODEL.- DIESEL.   I HAVE A PROBLEM ON THE TRANSMISSION SINCE I HAVE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE.   THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN I ENGAGE IN THE FIRST GEAR AND RAISE THE CLUTCH, THE VEHICLE SHOOTS OFF EVEN WITHOUT PRESSING ON THE ACCELARATOR UPTO A POINT THAT I HAVE TO PUT ON THE BRAKES INORDER TO REDUCE THE SPEED. I ALSO HAVE TO ADJUST BETWEEN THE BRAKES AND THE CLUTCH WHEN I AM IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I FEEL THAT THERE IS A MANUFACTURERS FAULT IN THE DESIGN AND THAT IS PROBABLY WHY THEY WOULD HAVE DISCONTINUED. Sometimes they won't turn off immediately when I push the lever to where it's supposed to be at "stop". Sometimes when they are on delay they wipe 6-8 times, then delay; not the intermittant delay that is pre-set...they have a mind of their own. It's become quite comical, but still annoying. ok, the vehicle has over 90K miles, and is still going strong (thank the Lord! and my dilligent attention to service) Any suggestions on the gremlins in the wipers?

Replying to: rajesh4 (Jun 03, 2009 11:45 pm) well we dont have the diesel here in the US.....would think this appears to be an engine idle problem...if you are engaging the clutch and the vehicle moves foward without you using the accelerator......have you taken it back to the dealership?

Has anyone found out EXACTLY where the stereo equalizer is in the Sorentos? Mine's a 2004. I had mine do the typical...eat 6 cd's facilitating a complete stereo replacement. BUT the speakers would not work with the new stereo, a year later I am told there is an equalizer under one of the seats but you can't see/locate it to power it up so the speakers will work. Any other suggestions?? I need to get this taken care of soon as I want to trade it in.
