Replying to: gardis (Nov 11, 2008 6:27 pm) 22MPG city.....24+ MPG on highway the turbo is great....car rides like a monster......I have owned BMW's for 24 years and this is by far the best vehicle I have ever driven....I have a manual 6 speed with the new improved I drive which I love......it was worth the extra $$$ for the turbo... Have you considered a 2009? |

Thanks guys. I like the CPO program. Look even at the 39K price, that's about $12,000 less than a new one, let's face it. I wouldn't consider new, too much money for a vehicle. I have 3 dealers in my area, there is competition, so I'm going to print out some other vehicles and take them with me. They don't have to know I have my heart set on this particular car. I just don't want to be buying a car that's too technical for me, that's what I'm worried. The Lexus RX 350 is a good car also, far less technical. I'm in a quandary about it. Gardis in CT gardis72 |

...of a new BMW today. $1000 over invoice, exactly at invoice, or a $1000 under invoice? I am planning to purchase a 2009 550i by the end of the year. Primarily due to the 0.9% financing. But have no idea what I should expect when it comes time to negotiate. The car I want has an msrp of $74,450. I live in MD and is looking for any tip and guidance anyone may offer. Please be as specific as possible. |

I was reading some reviews of the 535i in Yahoo and I was surprised, many said the gas mileage on a 535i turbo was lousy. I'm having second thoughts now about that vehicle. I don't want, repeat do not want a gas hog. Also, I understand there are different driving modes, like "sport" etc., can anyone explain and how do these modes affect gas consumption. Does iDrive control that?

I would like to purchase a 2008 528i, with a premium package, and no other options. Can anyone give me idea of what a fair purchase price would be for this car?

Hi, I have a question, I’m looking at a 2007 530xi in CT. The price is good, but the dealer wants to charge me $550 in dealer fees. Sounds very high to me. How much should it be? Thanks in advance. B-

| ...8% below MSRP. Which is around 500-1000 over invoice. Can I do better on a 550i 2009? | |
| Wow I never heard of dealer fees, that's a LOT of money, does anyone know about that? If I buy a pre owned 2008 535i, do I have to pay that in CT? | |

Replying to: curiousfl (Nov 15, 2008 6:03 am) work on getting atleat 15% below msrp. if a dealer has an internet site, they'll most likely a "get a quote" feature. use this, for the most part your request quote request will go directly to the fleet manager, get the car info from their online inventory and ask for a quote specific for that car or give general info of what you're looking for like, "08 528i with ... package/option, color of ..." . if not available, call the dealer and ask for fleet manager, make sure you are getting the fleet manager and not a regular sales man. give it a try, if you're a serious buyer you got nothing but to gain from this. i do this with all my car shopping and it works, i saved a bundle for the vehicle that i like. my friends and family are amaze with deals i got. u got have to take your time, shop around. what's great about online quotes is you dont' get pressured compare to when you're "in their shop." we all know how that is. remember, get quotes directly from the dealers' sites, not some third party auto shopping sites - those are brokers. |
