I have the '03 530 and have driven the 535SP at length (brother owns one). Still love that BMW straight 6! The 550i premium over the 535 may seem steep, but you just have to drive them to experience the difference, subtle it may be.

That could change when I see one in person, but I'm not turned off by it. As a single person I don't see myself ever buying a 'crossover', though. If I wanted a truck, I'd buy a truck. If I wanted a car, I'd buy a car. If I had kids, and I needed something that I could take to the golf course as well as soccer games, I'd take a look at the X6.

Replying to: bdkinnh (Nov 29, 2007 10:39 am) right now I am emailing all dealers within 50 miles asking for best prices. Lastly, anyone drive both 535i and 528i and just shake their head? Looks like I can save $100/month leasing a 528i but havent driven it yet...only 535i. |

one of my local dealers seems to be taking the strategy to offer me Invoice+2% on 528i or 535i. So if a 528i msrp is $51,270 and invoice is $47650, they offer $48603 ($953 over invoice). 535i would be msrp of $56,670, invoice of $52,771, they offer $53826 ($1055 over invoice) Are these good prices? these deals give me these leases payments using the november rates posted 535i, 36 month at $754, 24 month at $760. 10k miles 528i, 36 month at $679, 24 month at $640. 10k miles. What is unsure is the out of pocket. they mandate a $399 doc fee (pretty much standard here in ATL). I assume security deposit+first month. I am unsure about the ACQ fee...I normally see them squeeze that into the lease cap cost, but I would push to eliminate it basically. |

I spent less than 1.5hrs at the dealership taking care of the paperwork and doing the show/tell of features. The most painless car buying experience I've ever had! |

Replying to: nyccarguy (Dec 02, 2007 6:29 pm) Acquistion fee (for leases). I am told it is a minimum of $625...charged by BMWFS. Some dealers mark up to $825. Can this be negotiated to ZERO? Doc fee. Most local ATL BMW dealers make this $399. I have seen $499 and $299. I would think this could be zero also. I believe some of the invoice pricing differences could be the MACO and Training fees. I am researching that. thx
