I ordered a 528 with premium/sports, Nav, xenon, and satellite radio two weeks ago and it should arrive by the end of June ( $2,000. off MSRP)... However; I did not order the Logic 7 radio, just kept the standard.. I think this was a mistake. My wife drive a 2005 Lexus GX470 with the Mark Levinson radio and it sounds great..

The Question did I make a mistake, will I notice the difference??

P.S. this will be my third 5 series in the last ten yeasrs and I never had the premium sound before. I drive a 2004 525I now..trading it in..!

Gotta love the game of buying a car... by hpia4v2

Before The internet, Money magazine published the invoice prices of cars once a year.
Edmunds took it to the next level, with holdback, incentives, rebates for each make and model etc.
Now the dealers get back to some of us with this extra charges, MACO, dealer preparation, training fees; only on certain models, region etc.

So somebody who thinks they got $1500 over invoice on 535i may actaully only gets $2000 of MSRP. (at least on 535i that I looked, MSRP doesn't carry MACO, dealer prep or taining fees). Hey it's a conflict on interest between us and dealers so let the game continue on...

BTW, people always say it's supply and demand, yeah right only in this game we are handicapped since dealers is the one who can see the supply and demand curve. For us it's an empty X-Y axis graph.

I can definitely tell the difference, but some people can't (like my wife). You might be able to make a change if you catch it now.

For me, waiting for the 2009 550 is academic because I sold my wife's Lexus GS430, and the BMW is the replacement vehicle. If the 2009 is as rumored (i.e., more power/better economy), then I would be tempted to wait. She and I drove the 2008 535i, and I confess that I would not have known that it was a twin turbo six rather than a V8 if BMW had hidden the badgeing. (And if I had not looked under the hood.) While I thought I detected minimal turbo lag, I think it was more imaginary than real. I am banking on the 550i returning almost enough on trade or sale value to make up for most of the 535i/550 cost difference.

Sorry that I cannot be of more help.

Was able to order one for $800 over invoice with premium and cold weather package. Car was ordered in New Hampshire. Had 3 other offers right around $1000 over invoice from other dealers.

Do you mind sharing the name and city of the dealer(s) whom you contacted? $800 (to) $1000 over invoice is better than what I have been able to negotiate. (I was not certain that the Edmunds board host would allow the sharing of such information. As such, I asked, and they said yes.)

Thanks.

Money Factor on 2008 535 by nales976

If anyone can provide me with some guidance on the Money Factor that BMW Financial is using on 2008 535s right now I would greatly appreciate it. In this forum I have seen as low as .0018 and I am being quoted .00305. Are money factors regional or national?

Thanks.

For current owners, BMWFS is offering .0018..

If you aren't a current owner, then the rate is .0025

To get to .00305, your dealer is marking up the rate the maximum .0004, plus assuming that you aren't making a security deposit, which adds .00015, resulting in a total of .00305..
