I live in the Pittsburgh Penna area most of the year. I also live in the central Florida area around 3 months of the year. I am looking to buy a 2007 BMW station wagon 4-wheel drive. I am planning way ahead. I will be ready around september. Any good experience about dealers in these areas--both price and service would be helpful. Let me know. Thanks

545 vs. 550 by jgordon1

I am looking at an '05 545 Sport. Is there a big difference in 545 vs. an 06 550. What kind of deal can I expect on an 06 - the sales guys says sticker and there are not more then 3 on any lot in the DC metro area, I just can't bring myself to pay sticker. The 05 is loaded with the Sport package and nav. 15K miles, sale price $54,900. Which way to go?

jgordon1,

I believe the only difference with the 05 545i and 06 550i is the engine. I just recently purchased a 05 545i (Sat prep, PDC, Nav, Premium, Sport, Cold, and Sound packages) with 8700 miles for $50k out the door in MD. I believe the price that this dealer is asking for is too high since the 06 and 07 are in the showrooms, meaning the 04-05 545i have depreciated. Go to KBB.com and you can see what the 05 545i trade-in is worth. I negotiate used cars based on the trade-in value. I paid $1400 over the trade-in value of the car. If you want more engine power, then get the 06 550 and you will probably get $1-2k off sticker. However the 04-05 545i engine should be enough for the average driver and you can get a better deal. Shop around using sites like cars.com and autotrader.com. Good luck!

I just bought a CPO '04 545i with 10,000 miles and sport package, 6 speed manual, nav., xenons, sunshades, sat. prep. for $42K even.
You can bargain off of the BMW CPO web site prices.

Stay away from West German BMW in Ambler, PA by sb55

I am sure that this is very hard to follow, since the thread starts from the bottom, but steer away from WEST GERMAN BMW in Ambler, PA. They do not stand by their word and are extremely rude and do not return phone calls. The gist of this is that there is a tire problem on a CPO car and their basic reply is that I got a "good" deal and should be happy anyway.
I edited out my name and the name of the salesman. Read from bottom up, if interested.

Per BMW USA, I want the name of the "pre-owned" sales manager. You can have
him call me.
