If you are trying to work a CPO deal, then you should be able to do it with any dealer of your choice.. If you are just turning it back in, then your preferred dealer may ask you to take it back to the original dealer, as BMW requires the dealerships to purchase a certain percentage of their lease returns..

I'd get with a sales manager or CA before you go over 50K miles, though.. I'm not sure of all the CPO rules, but the warranty expiration may be a sticking point. The BMW dealers buy the cars at the MMR price, not the residual.. but, that price may not be available to them, until the lease is up.. The MMR price being lower than the residual is the key to them being able to CPO and re-sell you the car for less than your residual + warranty purchase.

Not sure on your model, but the 3-series extended maintenance plan is $995 for 6yr/100K.

Here is a good post about this very subject.
mmr cpo deal

My mileage allowance is 45K for the 36 month lease. By the end of the lease period (June 1) I will be at or near 52K. If I turn it back to BMW I write a check for $1400 for over mileage (.20 per mile).

Did you know that BMWFS allows mileage adjustments during the lease term? (BTW, the only leasing company I know of that allows you to do that.) Up until a certain number of months left on your lease, you can buy miles for only 16 cents per mile (15 cents up front, 20 at the end) if you find yourself going over your limit. However, with only 3 months left, I think you've passed the allowable date... It's worth a call to BMWFS, though!

Hi Guys - New to this board. I had a local BMW dealer attempt to locate a 2006 525i - Black, Auburn Interior, Premium Pkg,Premium Sound,Winter Pkg, Zenon Headlights. Dealer quoted me price of 3% over Dlr invoice. They are unable to locate this car. Dlr advises no more 06 models are being built. Will order/build me and 07...but I am hesitant to a purchase any veh sight unseen. I cannot locate any info on the 07s: style, Wheels etc. Any input from you pros would be fantastic ! Thanx.

2006 5-series are very scarce right now, as you have learned. Your salesperson is correct when they said there are no more 06 cars being built.

Changes for 2007...

Two new options: High-Definition Radio and Night Vision
Additional features: Tire pressure monitor and auxiliary input (for mp3 players, for example)

Also, you didn't say you were getting the sport package, but the sport package on the 2007 will include the "comfort seats" (now called "multi-contour seats") instead of the previous "sport seats". These multi-contour seats will include the features of the comfort seats but also provide the lateral support of the sport seats.

And, last but not least, the price on the 525i will go up about $1000 for the 2007 models.

Well, I got an education from the local BMW dealer SM about my options...all of which are expensive. I'll try to keep it correct.

If I turn the car in, have the dealer CPO it, they'll charge me the following:

995.00 CPO work
250.00 shop charge
150.00 std dealer "paperwork" charge
1000.00 profit

PROVIDED I buy the car before the 50,000 mile warranty period is crossed and before the lease term is up. Thus, they'll charge residual plus the remaining two payments plus excess mileage penelty plus CPO charges. Lots of profit for the dealer...If I do it this way. They told me there is no BMW "forward" program to facilitate this.

If I buy the Extended warranty now and then buy the car straight out at the end of the lease term the charge for the warranty is $3294.00. They claim it's based upon not having had the car to inspect/ "upgrade/CPO" it to their satisfaction. Kind of ironic since they've serviced it from day one...

Oh, one other thing, the extended maintenance plan (same period and mileage as the extended warranty plan) is $1795.00.

All in all, either option is looking like the numbers wont work for me...

Yeah... I think you running out of warranty before the lease is up, is kind of a sticking point.. I don't think they can do anything now, because BMWFS is not going to let that car go for less than the lease payoff, before the lease end date..

It looks like they might be marking up the warranty and the extended maintenance plan a little.... the maintenance plan for sure..

I agree with your assessment.... It is no deal at that kind of price..

Hey everyone, I'm new to the board. I recently leased a Demo 525XI in NY with cold and premium package and xenons with about 7300 Miles. The dealer wouldnt disclose the money factor to me. The selling price was 43,317. My monthly payments is 578.17 including tax ($1,100) and acquistion ($625) rolled into payment. I put down the security deposit of $600 and first payment only. Did i get a good deal? Btw, this is a 2 year lease with 15,000 miles a year.

Sounds pretty good. I got a quote on a 2006 525xi last fall that was $1511 over invoice but the updated quote he just gave me for a 2007 with some different options is now $1876 over invoice. Where did you buy?

Could you tell me how much did you pay for your 2007 530xi?
I am sad to know that 5 series are so unavailable. Can anyone recommend a local dealer in the Bay Area to purchase 530 or 550 from?
Thank you in advance.
