I'm a few hundred miles from 50K on my 2003 X5 3.0. My lease expires June 1. If I buy it I'm thinking about getting the factory extended warranty (two years/50,000 miles) Is it worth it? How much are dealers quoting? The big question: Should I buy this car at $27, 585 (residual). Car is in excellent condition. Thanks in advance for your replies.

If I were buying the warranty, I think I'd by the extended maintenance plan, as well.. It is too bad that you aren't at the end of your lease now.. It is possible that the dealer could buy your car at the end of the lease from BMW for less than your residual, CPO it, make a little profit, and sell it back to you for less than the cost of you buying the vehicle and the warranty yourself.. But, if you go over the 50K mark, you are out of luck.... What about your mileage? Are you substantially over your mileage allowance? regards, kyfdx

If I turn it back to BMW I write a check for $1400 for over mileage (.20 per mile). What does the extended maintenance plan cost? length? Your sell back is interesting. Can a dealer make that determination in a quick turn around? I'd probably approach the dealer with this requested scenerio to see how it pencil's out. I hope I can trust the dealer. Hey, do you know if I HAVE to return the car to the original dealer ir can I work this deal with my preferred dealer? I have my car serviced at my preferred dealer and they're awesome. They seem to be about customer loyalty. They're also a Lithia dealer if that makes any difference. Thanks for your thoughts... |

Hi guys, Please help me out if you already bought your new 550i. I am planning to buy the new 550i, but I would like to know how much you paid for or how much you can negotiate down from the invoice price. I am living in the bay area (Califorinia). Thanks in advance. Ed. |
