I am new to this forum, and today i purchased a brand new 06 525 xi with the following options Auto Trans, Premium Pkg Cold Weather pkg Folding rear seats Metallic paint, Black leather seat. Dealer listed the car at $49925 We got the car (final price) $46800 plus tax and dmv. Is this a good price or was I ripped off? Thanks, isispel in NJ.

I'm looking to purchase this 2006 525xi immediately or as soon as i could find the deal im looking for. I've been fortunate/lucky in the past receiving the deals i've wanted by calling many dealers by phone. Local dealers never seem to cut the best deal. I want to purchase this vehicle with vehicle with $9,425 in options. With base price, options, and delivery the car comes to $54,820 (list). If somebody can lead me to a dealer to purchase $1,000 over the invoice of $51,180, i'm "good to go." Thanks |

That deal appears to be "quite" good. Your within hundreds of dollars from being a "great" deal. Post the dealers name, city and state. Im looking for a "real" similar deal. Thanks. |

Replying to: isispel (Jan 21, 2006 7:57 pm) It appears the car should retail The invoice appears to be $47,265. The deal is better than g"ood," its "great." Are u sure that is leather and not leatherette? I left u another message prior to looking up the figures. Let me know the dealer. Im looking for the same vehicle with slightly different equipment. Thanks

Replying to: dadmommikemad (Jan 22, 2006 9:53 am) Thank you for your reply. To answer your question, no I did not read the sticker on the window, however, I priced the car on edmunds.com and BMW.com and they both came out to be MSRP:49,895.00 Premium packg (leather seats included in this packg), cold weather pkg, automatic trans, and folding rear seats, nothing else added. The dealer (Park Ave BMW, in Rochelle Park, NJ) gave it to us for 46,800.00. I believe it's roughly 1000.00 over the invoice ($45,695.00), that's why I wondered if we could've done better, or if it's too good to be true? We still didn't pick it up yet. Thank you for your help and interest.. -Isispele

| From what I understand, there are currently very low inventory levels of the 5-series on dealers' lots. I guess they shut down the factories a couple months ago to re-tool them, so they're a little behind now in their supply. As a result, I think that dealers are currently being a little more stringent on their deals. They also said it's more difficult to do dealer trades since nobody wants to give up their 5-series.... Just FYI. | |

Has anyone undergone negotations for a 550 recently? I am looking in the Midwest.

Replying to: isispel (Jan 23, 2006 7:39 am) Called them today. They have a nice approach to sales. They seem to make the deals the customer wants. --- But --- BMW is coming out with the 2007 525xi and other 5 series models in less than 2 months. You and I may as well wait for the newer model year. Even if you pay thousands more for the newer model year, it will make the worth of the car greater due to the car being one model year newer for future trade-in. Thanks |
