Reading the posts on this site shows me their are some very knowledgeable people out there regarding the 5-series. I am jumping into the world of finer cars. I have my eyes set on a 525 or 530 but not sure which way to go. Slightly higher horsepower in the 530 than the 525, is there a noticeable difference? What should i expect to pay for either model with the cold package, premier package? I plan on purchasing rather than leasing with putting a rather large down payment down. Is there negotition power on my side with this. Any help would be great! Thanx

Thanks to all for posting your info on prices paid, it helped me alot in my buying process. Thought I would return the favor. Just put a deposit down on a 525i, Titanium Grey, automatic, premium pkg., premium audio, folding rear seats and sirius radio for $45,745 or $1190 over invoice. Car scheduled to be delivered to me by the end of July, its on the ship now. Emailed several dealers and took the best quote. Got one quote for $850 over invoice but would not be built until later and delivered at the end of Sept. so paid a little more to get it sooner. Hope that helps.

Replying to: noeyou (Jul 18, 2005 1:55 pm) I had a 2005 525i, and found it to be much too sluggish. Thus, I just got my 2006 530i, with 255 horsepower, and believe me when I say it has the power and the performance I was looking for. The 06 525i has 215 hp, which is 30 horsepower more than the 05. I would strongly suggest that you test drive the 06 525 and 530. Then, you have to determine for yourself which is best for you. I live in Florida, so I had no use for the cold weather package, but the premium package is a must. I also go the premium sound package, with logic 7 studio surround sound - a great improvement over the standard radio. I also have sirius radio, which is outstanding with the premium sound package. As for what you will pay, for the 06 530i, it should MSRP with cold weather package for around 52,500. If you shop the price from dealer to dealer, you should be able to get one for around 1500 over, as I did. I bought the car as I plan to keep it for a number of years. With interest rates going up monthly, I would urge you to make a decision quickly and negotiate your interest rate as well. Good luck

just got my titanium gray 525xi. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. My only regret is not getting premium sound. While it has been 90 degrees plus, my grill and hood are staying extremely hot even hours after the car has been driven. Dealer says normal (??)

Replying to: monk134 (Jul 11, 2005 7:54 pm) trade, just didn't want the hassle of selling it myself. Dealer ordered the wrong trim so my wait was extended two additional weeks. They gave me some $$ off but I had to ask for it, more negotiating, left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The good news is I'm gonna stop my belly-achin' and tell you the car is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well worth the wait and a few inconveniences!!! Did you order? |
