The lease expired on my 530i yesterday. I decided to purchase the car. I inquired a number of times on this board over the past few months about the CPO process and received some very good advice. However, no one posted details of their lease buy-out CPO transaction. To help others that are thinking about purchasing their leased car, here is the details of my transaction. Basically, BMW is PAYING me OVER $1100 to CPO the car: - 2002 530i, PP, SP, Xenon, 5-speed, 36,327 miles - Kelly Blue Book: Retail - $37,895, Wholesale - $29,725 - Edmunds TMV: Retail: $37,596, Wholesale: $29,286 - CPO purchase price: $26,729.32 (This is MMR value, which is about $2000 below my lease buy-out price) - CPO price: $1800 (everything included) - BMWCCA rebate: $500 - Overmileage and disposition fee ($415): Waived - Free loaner while car is being CPO'd and for all future services - 3.9% financing through BMWFS.

....... You did good ... They're doing the mid/tall $25's, low low low $26's at the auctions .... you got a good deal, BMWFS got a good deal, they sold a warranty, you're happy, they're happy, you saved money, they made money -- all is good with the world ................. Terry. |

Replying to: chazzy (Dec 29, 2004 6:36 pm) >almost the entire car had been re-painted<** ... ======================= Not knowing the area, specs and the color on this "paint by numbers deal" .... lets say the body is puuuurfect and the owner was just a nut case and had it painted just for the "grins and glory" of it all .. if so, it's a $15,000 vehicle, major paint work Kkkkkkills the value of Bimmers - plus the CPO will not be good if body/frame damage is found .. Can you spell: PASS .... for $27,0 there is bunches of nice ones out there ............. Terry. |

Replying to: blckislandguy (Dec 25, 2004 5:24 pm) I really was just trying to find out what was a good deal. I believe that I found a great deal when I purchased my 540i,silver on silver, 6speed vehicle on Tuesday. The car was selling for blue book, but I purchased it for $5400 less. Dealers are trying to move vehicle before January 1st. Thanks, JAPAN 93 |

Replying to: nyccarguy (Dec 30, 2004 10:01 pm) The dealer has nothing to do with it, it's not their vehicle, it's not their title - always deal with the leasing company ... how did you find out the MMR value? Have you tried: Real-World Trade-In Values .. there's only about 24,000 posts on Real world values rolling around there .. Terry.
