I just purchased a 2005 red 330iZHP (off lease) with 41900 miles. Warranty good 'til December '08. I purchased it from a small dealership and was suprised to find such a nice car on a small lot. Usually the big dealerships get the "cream of the crop" and the little dealerships bid over whats left...it was purchased at the Auction.
I got it for $24500. I feel like it was a good price because the car drives and handles like it's new...nice and tight with very few if any creaks. Paint is still glossy with 2 or 3 nicks in the hood, but evey place else is above average for a 3 year old car. Interior is in great shape. The back seats and passenger seats have almost no apparant wear Actually, it will be in service 3 years in December.
I took it to my local BMW dealership during the test drive to check out the maintenance records and while there I tried to give them a shot at my business. But, all of their preowned 3 series were "plain jane" and quite a bit more because they were certified. The salesman tried to "sell" me on a BMW being certified, but even if they had one I liked I couldn't see paying $2500-$3000 more. The only problem I have found is that it appears that the windshield washer fluid pump doesn't work. No problem there since the original warranty is still intact. Almost forgot...there's no spare! Did the ZHP come with one? The tires aren't run flat.
It's a real joy to drive...as usual with BMW's. It's my fourth...'00 328i, '02 530i, '05 Z4...I'm a BMW man!!!!

Is the spare a 50 mph "doughnut" or is it the same as what's on the car?
Thanks!

I haven't found a good deal on the 335i yet in the oc, though I've mostly gone through the Internet managers so far. I did have a call recently from a guy who I met briefly when I was browsing and he said 400 over invoice. I need to sync up with him again to see if I can still get it. The Internet guys keep quoting 1200-1600 over invoice. though i believe out the door still includes the lic/tax.

The sales tax isn't included in this. The price includes destination charges. Sales tax, license and registration are seperate. I wanted to know if that is a good deal to buy a 328XI Premium package Auto Cold weather package Navigation for $40,652 Thanks.

#8740 of 11920 Prices for 335xi and 328xi in Long Island NY
by stephend

I live in the Huntington area of Long Island NY and I am looking for either the 328xi or the 335xi. I received price quotes from a dealership near me through my bank's credit union. The options for both were the steptronic, comfort access, heated seats, metallic paint and leather seats. For the 328xi I received a price quote of $38,680 plus taxes and plates, and for the 335xi $44,660 plus taxes and plates. 328xi shows an invoice of 36,200 and MSRP 39,275, only $600 off the MSRP and the 335xi shows an invoice 42,180 and MSRP 45,775 about $1100 off the MSRP. I feel that I didn't have to go through the credit union to get these prices! However, the price quotes are similar to the TMV listed in edmunds. I am interested to hear from others on what kind of deals that they are getting on Long Island and from what dealerships they find easiest to deal with.

Prestige BMW
Negotiated deal over the phone. New (92 miles) 328i Red Convertible with Dakota Cream Beige Leather, Premium Package, Steptrionic AT, Sports Package, Comfort Access, Heated Seats, USB & I-Pod adapter:
MSRP $50,600
Negotiated Price $48,100
Nothing added to Lease and No Cash Down
73% Residual Value = $36,938
0.00245 Money Factor
7% Sales tax in NJ
$721 Monthly Payment (includes the sales tax)
I brought:
$750 refundable security deposit
$850 Ransom/Bank Fee
$149 Beer Fund/Doc Fee
$721 First Month's Paymet
$286.50 NJ Reg, Title, Tire Tax
Total = $2,756.50 at Lease signing
They made $48,100 neg. price - $46,505 inv. = $1,595 + $850 Bank Fee + $149 Doc Fee + about $2,000 manufacturer holdback = $4,594 gross profit
$4,594 seems like a reasonable profit to me on a $50k car. "everybody's gotta eat"
Oh...and I searched about 5 dealerships for a red 328i and this was the only one in our area.
