"I refused and he said we have nothing else to talk about."

You owe an apology - you only confirmed your ignorance to the dealer and any others present. Gosh, I feel sorry for sales people that have to deal with jerks like you.

MACO and Training fee are legit costs

I feel sorry for people that have to resort to personal name-calling like 'ignorant' and 'jerk' to prove their point.

What dealership in DC offered you the quote? I have no problem driving up there to get the car if I can get a similar deal.

I'm working with a dealership in Charlotte and they won't negotiate at all. I think that's a really good quote, considering that's just a smidge over $1000 above invoice. How many miles are on the car?

BMW of Sterling made me the offer. The car would have to be built for me because there aren't many manuals in this area. So mileage shouldn't be an issue.

With the bad month BMW had in Feb and the of course the socalled downturn of the economy, any one get a car recently? I"m in the Orange County area looking for a deal in LA/OC for a place that will give me a good deal on a 335i coupe.

I saw the financing deal on the bmw site that looked great! 3.9%!

From Posts #8629 and # 8649

The extended maintenance program is also available at a cost of
$1,695.00. The program extends the full maintenance program to 72 months or 100,000 miles.

I was quoted $2295 from BMW of San Francisco for the Extended Maintenance Program and the person I talked to said this can be done over the phone.

What dealership is offering the Extended Maintenance Program for $1695. Anyone else also offered around this figure. Please advise on which dealership, if any, in Northern California.

Just started looking to buy my first BMW and not sure what to expect from the dealer. Any insight into how much BMW typically comes off MSRP? Will be looking around NC, Charlotte and the Triad.

Buying Experience in DFW by skepmod

I was looking for a Manual 328i, no additional options, in the Dallas area. I also wanted White, which is hard to find. So, it would have to be an order. I started with a bunch of research here and on bimmerfest. The most confusing part was whether or not MACO and Training fees are included in what people report. Nevertheless, I saw a range between $500 and $1200 over invoice (incl. MACO+Trng). I decided my number was $800 over invoice or $31,400+TTL.

I test drove at BMW of Dallas. The dealer offered $1000 discount, then took it down to $750 when we didn't find a car off the lot. Whatever. Price: $32,425+TTL.

Next, I emailed two other dealerships in the DFW area, offering $800 over invoice. Both BMW Dallas and Classic accept the offer, but tell me I have the invoice price wrong. This seems to be the new tactic - accept the deal, but reset the invoice price, citing "regional differences".

The guy from Classic offered $31,900 and gave me this long song and dance about the dealership charging him (the dealer) $500 for the following charges:

$260 for Valet Service
$40 for Gas
$100 for some Old Age Unit Charge
$100 Christmas fund.

I almost gag on the BS. I tell him I want $31,400 including his Christmas fund. His manager calls back. A lot less BS, I must say. He says $31,900 is his final offer; can't to business below that. I thank him and hang up.

Autobahn calls back and said he could do $1500 off - which is $31,675. Getting close.

Went back to BMW of Dallas. I tell the dealer $31,400 and also that if they cannot do it, they should tell me so, I don't want to haggle forever. Comes back with $31,800. I say I have another offer of $31,650, but want to give them the business. Next offer is $31,500 + TTL. I take the offer.

It's not the lowest offer I have read here, but I got what I thought was reasonable. I also get the 3.9%. How did I do?

So you're saying that your final deal was $900 over invoice, whereby you had already added (MACO + Training) to the price? Just checking since that was the point of my post above (I wanted $1K over invoice, incl. MACO + training, and the dealer offered $1K over invoice PLUS another $480 for MACO + training).
