When are the 2008 models expected out? Wouldn't this be the time to get the best deal on any existing 2007's?

I am assuming you are looking at a sedan. It is a bad deal. I am leasing a 328i sedan with automatic, sports pack, metallic paint, comfort access and leather for $455 per month including tax (3% in NC). This is for 36 months, 15K per year. It does include the maximum number of security deposits ($4000) but these are refundable. Without the security deposits it would be around $500 a month.

You are looking at only 10K and several thousand less in MSRP since you just want automatic. I would expect you could get $450 easily.

You should get around $1000 above invoice and a money factor of 0.0014 is the buy rate with the maximum being 0.0018 that a dealer can mark it up (as long as you give one security deposit). Ask your dealer for the numbers behind the monthly figure.

Yep, just as I thought. Thanks a lot for the response, I appreciate it

I asked the dealer how much the monthly payment would be if I put a security deposit down and he said "not much, only $10 less or so, that is why the $0 option makes the best sense" - ha! Even $10 less per month would equal to $360 after 36 months, which is still something. I'm going to try and see what putting down $4000 in security deposits does.

When I was looking to lease one dealer was pushing me to put $1000 down as cap reduction rather than $4000 down as security deposits saying that it was similar. Only problem is I would lose $1000 whereas the $4000 would be refunded. Security deposits work out at about a 10% tax free return so pretty much a win-win if you can afford to be without the money for the term of the lease.

kyfdx,
I must have misunderstood how the security deposits work, as it seems to good to be true...
I'm calculating a lease for a 328i sedan and by using the money factor of 0.0014 I came up with a payment of $450.
Then I did 0.0014-0.00015-0.00007-0.00007-0.00007-0.00007-0.00007-0.00007-0.00007 = 0.00076

I.e. with the maximum possible security deposits, the money factor goes from 0.0014 to 0.00076?

Is this right?

.0014 is including the first security deposit...

So, subtract 7 X .00007 from that... = .00091

MF 1.4 is the same as 0.0014 - some people find it easier to ignore the extra zero's. This is the current buy rate so the lowest the dealer can go with only one security deposit.
I would think tax is on top - depends on your state but it looks like you would add the appropriate % on top of your monthly payment.

Current leases are not great on 335. This car is so hot that they do not have to buy any rates down.
