Thought I'd let y'all know what I negotiated.

'06 BWM 330i with mystic blue metallic
Sports package
Comfort access
Sat radio prep
Carpets
Wheel locks

Price: $38,300 including ad and doc fees, not including tax and tag. MSRP is around $40,120 and invoice is around $36,800. So I'm basically paying $1,500 over invoice and $1,800 under MSRP.

I used Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, NC. Could have probably saved a couple hundred more by going to Charlotte or one of the Triad dealerships but once you factor in the travel hassle it wasn't worth it since I live in Chapel Hill.

Let me know what you think of the deal and I hope this help in your car hunting...

Howdy all..

Could anyone be so kind as to provide me with the latest residual and money factor figures for 10/12K lease for either 24/36 months?

I am looking at a 330i sedan (2006 of course).

Thanks

No specials for March

if you were to lease a 2006 330i for 24 months the Base MF is .00220 and residual is 73% and 74% respectively for 10k and 12k miles.

The current residual for 330i is 64% for 12K a year, 63% for 12K a year and 62% for 15K a year. That is for 36 months. Don't know about 24. 330xi is either 2 or 3% lower across the board.

The base money factor for 330i (but NOT 330xi) 0.00195. You probably won't get the base money factor but 0.00215 or even 0.00205 is doable - at least here in NJ.

That's a great deal you got, but I bet the dealer is glad to be making any kind of money on that car and getting rid of it.

It it off the lot or order? If it's off-the-lot, I wonder how long it's been sitting in inventory.

You certainly can lease cars in TX. I just leased one last week. The only down side to leasing in TX is that you have to pay the sales tax on the entire cap cost, not just the depreciation portion. Also in certain counties/cities, you have to pay an annual property tax on a leased car.

I was quoted $1000 off MSRP on a 325i with step, xenon, sport & leather. The three dealerships are about the same. You'll probably have to go outside of DFW to get deeper discounts.

If your experience mirrors mine your first challenge i going to be finding a car with a manual transmission. Among the five dealerships in NC I contacted, they only had 5 325i or 330i with stick. They looked up upcoming shipments and said there were only 45 cars with sticks coming in for the entire US!

Best thing to do is order a car. Then you can get the specific color and options you want and you would probably get the car for less because the dealer isn't incurring any risk and cost of a car sitting on the lot when it arrives. Sure, you have to be a little more patient but apparently it's not that bad. I put my order in yesterday afternoon and I got an email this morning telling me that the car has already gone into production. BMW provided me with a tracking number so that I can monitor the production progress. The car is scheduled to arrive in early April. Not a bad tradeoff to get the exact car you want at a lower price.

Good luck.
