I have been researching for a 325 convertible and am still looking for a good deal. I have been in contact with a few dealers and when all is said and done, nearly all talk about $2000 down. When questioned they say that it includes first months payment plus things such as $850 bank fee and $450 dealer fee. Are these negotiable and what are fair negotiated rates for these things? What should I be expected as far as money up front. Thanks

If they were marking it up to .0029, the payment would be even higher... I would want it to look like this: $37720 MSRP $36220 selling price ($1500 off) $36845 Cap cost (selling price + $625 acq.fee) Money factor .0025 3yr/45K residual 61% Payment = $534/mo.+tax.. Due at signing: 1st payment, security deposit, title/license fees.. Total: about $1400-$1500 I'm not sure how they figure tax in your state, but if they just apply it to the monthly payment, then the total payment would be around $574/mo.. As you can see, this is not far off of your numbers.. Most of the differences can be attributed to the $500 lower selling price that I assumed in my example.. I had them add this to my cap cost, which rolls it into the monthly payment.. BMWFS allows the dealer to mark-up this fee for extra profit.. The maximum allowed is $825. Title/license fee: $114.. This covered title, plates, registration, state leasing permit, etc, etc.. I didn't even ask for a breakdown of it.. Security deposit: To get the lowest rate, you have to make a security deposit, that is rounded up to the next $50 increment over your payment.. The lease on my car is $529/mo.. My total due at signing was $1194.. $529 1st pymt $550 security deposit $114 Title/license fees That's it... The acquisition fee was rolled into the lease payment.. no dealer fees, no document fees, nothing else.. Hope this helps.. kyfdx

Replying to: mwhitt (Jan 09, 2006 7:59 pm) For wheels/tires, they tried to sell me on a 5 yr warranty that would protect tires on a pro-rated basis if they got damaged by road hazards. It's not worth it. To protect your wheels, get full coverage. Most insurance companies cover wheels in their full coverage. To protect your tires, buy from Costco. They give free road hazard protection. Or you can buy it from an online dealer like tirerack.com

Replying to: salraf (Jan 18, 2006 9:21 pm)  It was the last '05 on the lot.... I paid right at invoice... but, the dealer got the $2K incentive, so it wasn't a "bottom dollar" deal... In my experience, they won't let convertibles go for "500 over invoice". I did get the base money factor (.00075), and the residual for 3yr/45K was 61%... the same as it is for the '06 model. MSRP of just over $49K... and the lease payment was $499/mo. plus tax.. Payments between $650-$700 seem about right on an '06 convertible.. regards, kyfdx |

I was offered a 05 330i demo with 13000 miles on it for 28,500. Car has the HK, heated seats, premium package, steptronic and leather. It's CPO and since it was a demo, 5,000 miles or 3 months were added to the original warranty. So what do you think? Also what should I pay for the Sirius radio option?
