Just wanted to see what people thought of this deal for
a lease in San Francisco Bay Area.
330i, premium, automatic, navigation, satellite prep, sports package
MSRP $44,225
12k/yr 3 year lease
$1015 drive off - $0 cap reduction, only tax, license, registration, 1st month
They quoted $566/month, $612/month after taxes

That is a decent deal.. If you use the base rates, it is about a $1600 discount off of MSRP...
You might be able to get them down another $15/mo.., but that would be about it, I would think...

trdrdad -- what kind of time frame did the dealer say you were looking at on your order? Also, any sense of how long a car typically is at each stage of the order process? (my 330xi was ordered just before the new year and the status remains "on order"). I'm trying to figure out how difficult I should be if the estimate of "early to mid-March" gets missed.
Obviously, I'd appreciate anyone chiming in who has gone through this process.

You can buy a car that already has an active CPO warranty. However, if the car is owned by a dealer and showing on bmwusa.com, then the car is more likely in a CPO Pending" state, meaning that the car will go into an active state once someone buys it from the dealer. If the car you buy from a private party is just a used car without any prior CPO certification, then you won't have any warranty...

typically takes about 6-7 weeks from build of car til it arrives at dealership. The car only takes about 2 days to be built but it is the transportation that takes forever. The wait at the port, coupled with the 14 days transcontinental voyage, only adds to the anticipaton. I order my 2006 330xi in med sept for a first week october build and picked it up at my dealership on 11/22/05. The BMWFS website allows you to track but it isn't always updated timely. You can call the BMW 800# and it will give you real time location of your vehicle. The anticipation is like no other but when it arrives, it is a joyous occasion!

I ordered my 330i on the 6th of January. The dealer, BMW of Nashville, told me it would be here in late February. They told me eight weeks is standard but lately they have been coming through on orders in 4-5 weeks.

You are going to love this car in terms of both performance and creature comforts. The bluetooth, comfort access and the ipod integration are some of my favorite.

I was told that my car would be here by the 2nd or 3rd week of feb. Talking to another guy who ordered one a fews days before I did from the same dealership thought that was a little bit too optimistic. I hope my sales guy was right for the both of us .

I just don't know if I can drive my '00 A4 much longer (no sport pkg, no 6 speed, etc.)! I guess those things in life that are worth it are worth waiting for (as long as you have $40k, too).
Anyway, thanks for the tips...I suppose I'll be calling the 800# instead of pulling up the website every day.

Which BMW 800 number did you call for a status report on the car? Do I need a VIN number or will a production number suffice?
