06 330xi

premium
steptronic
cold weather
sirius prep
green metallic

44070 MSRP
40395 Invoice
I offered 41000

Dealer responded e-mail - that is not unreasonable, which sounds like a sales tactic to me.

I think the 41 would be a great deal if I can get it, anybody doing any better than this...

If you can get $41k, that would be an incredible deal... $605 of profit on an in-demand 330xi is not common. Someone might bite, but I wouldn't bet my life one it.

What kind of "tactic" are you talking about?

The price did not include a premium package. I did not want leather, I had it on my Audi A4 and could hardly tell the difference between the leatherette and the leather on the BMW. You can also read the leather Vs. L-ette forum, which was really helpful. The price included cold weather package, sports package, and jet black paint with manual transmission. I got that price from a few dealers in NJ. The price was $37225+ doc. I do not know if it is pre wired for satellite, I was not interested in that option. I probably could have gone a little lower if I had pressed but I got it from a good dealer and paid a bit more, hopefully it will pay off. I don't know if dealers can be named on this site???????????? 6-8 week delivery time....

nothing major, just get me to stop in, drive the car, love it and be willing to go up some.

didn't want to kill it with a no frigging way. let's just say he didn't say my offer was accepted.

exact words were the price you offered was not unreasonable, i think we may be able to work something out.

i went on their website, dealer down the street, went through their inventory and made an offer - above was the response. not so much a tactic - as the first response in let's make a deal.

I really didn't understand that e-mail reply. It's either yes or no. What's up with "your offer is not unreasonable."
It sounds like they want to work a deal, but want you to come up a bit.

that is exactly what I think..

i wouldn't be surprised if they don't want to see another $500 out of me.

now the decision to be made. i have an offer on the table for a g35x,(prem, sirius, splash guards, trunk mat, 1 year service free) for $100 over invoice - $34.6.

the question for me, am i gonna love the bmw for $7K for more over the life of the car? i know it is a personal thing and determined by the drive. any last thoughts from anyone here?

you have included a lot of options. (more options = more margin of profit to the dealer)
You should get it for invoice.
my 2 cents

BMW 330i by vijayrvr

Hi, I am considering 2006 Silver BMW 330i with the following spec

- Metallic Paint
   ZPP Premium Package
   205 STEPTRONIC 6-Speed Automatic Transmission
   ZCW Cold Weather Package
   322 Comfort Access
   693 Satellite Radio Preparation

The MSRP on it is $42,820. The sales person says he can't come below $41000/-

Is it a good price to pay or can I get better deal?

Thanks!

sounds too high to me. i had a guy call today on an xi with an MSRP of 44.5 and gave me 42 on the first offer. I blew it off - didn't counter. Put it this way, I put in a bid of 41 on a car with an MSRP of 44 and they haven't completely blown it off - $600 over invoice.

I say shop around. did you do this through the internet. go to edmunds, get a price off that, both the msrp and the invoice, and then click get a quote. see what happens with the dealers that pop up. but work up off invoice, not down from MSRP.
