If I place an order on my car say in end January, I will get the car sometime in early to mid April. (I am ordering a manual)

In the meantime, if (in Feb-Mar) the prices of the car fall, will I be given that much discount (by the %age the prices reduce) or will I still be charged the same price I negotiated in January?

Also, is end January a good time?

The actual price of the car won't go down... What people are talking about is dealers selling them for lower to "move metal" at the end of the model year. If you negotiate a price in January, the actual window sticker will say the same thing as it will in April. (Actually, the price could go up a little bit, as all manufacturers increase their price by a little bit a few times per year.)

The best month I've heard is December. The price that I've negotiated in December should hold until my car comes in January. You put the deposit down to order the car, negotiate price, and then wait for the car to come. When the car arrives, this is when you'll pay for your vehicle based on the price you negotiated at the time of order.

At least this is how it worked at South Bay BMW. But bdr127 is right, the price doesn't go down on the sticker, but the price dealers are willing to sell the car will likely go down, just to move metal.

lease frustration by psyran

Leased a 330i (e90) in May. Now I think I got a horrible deal. ZSP, ZPP, Manual, Retail about $41,400. Put down about $2000 (not including Tax, Title, etc. Paying $639/month. Is there anyway to reduce this payment through BMW financial. I may even be interested in moving to a 5 series (525). Can I do this with little or no down and lower my monthly?? I now see others leasing similarly equipped 330's for almost a hundred less. According to the finance guy at the dealership, my credit was not an issue and did not increase payment.

You leased the car the first month it was introduced... Selling prices were higher then... the money factor was higher, etc, etc...

You paid for being the first person on your block to get a brand new model... I don't think your lease price is out of line for the time that you bought the car...

There won't be any inexpensive way to get out of your lease.. As the year goes on, you might see even lower lease prices.. I wouldn't let it bother you... You've already been driving your car for seven months..

1. So by end December should I negotiate the price below invoice?
Or its not possible to go below invoice?

2. Also, I havent followed the car prices before, as to when they increase/decrease. Do the new prices come out early in the year - say January 2006?
Any idea on when BMW is increasing the price of its best selling car?

3. As I said earlier, I am ordering a manual transmission. It will take 2-3 months to get the car. Will I have to pay extra for getting the car built? Someone had raised this point earlier too. But still confirming.

TROJAN

Does anyone have the Dec money factor and residuals for 10/12/15k miles per year for the 2006 330i 4dr?

Also, are deposits paid to a dealer to order a car refundable?

Thanks!

I kind of feel the same way, but I don't let it get me down. I ordered my e90 when it was only out for 3 weeks. There will always be a better deal, so you just have to realize that you made the best decision at the time with the information you had available.

1. Below invoice will not work. They will decline your offer and it will probably be hard to work with them as your expectations and the dealer's will be so far apart. If it were me, I would shoot for 1k over invoice.
2. Your guess is as good as mine.
3. I had my 325 manual ordered custom (required as I did European Delivery) and they did not charge any fees.

Good Luck.
