Appreciate the info. Dealership knocked off about $1,900 off MSRP on a fairly loaded 2006 330xi - payment at an LRF of .00265 is currently about $670 at 3 years/45K. Total money down is approximately $1,300. If I can get payment down to about $650, more money in my pocket.

Yeah.. that is a pretty healthy discount from MSRP for a car that has only just come out...

You have to balance everything.... If they only knocked $1000 off the price, but gave you the base rate, you'd be in the same place....

But, it doesn't hurt to ask for more..

MSRP was $45,395. Gave to me at $43,595.00. You are right, if I don't ask, I'll never know. Will consult with my CA tomorrow. Can't be any worse off than I am now. Overall, think I got a pretty healthy deal for a car that just came out. Total DP was $1,700 which included 1st month payment, bank fee, DMV and doc fees. Payment roughtly $678.00 - no sec deposit as this is my 3rd BMW. I've consulted a few friends and appears I have a pretty good deal.

I actually was informed that the taxes are covered, but my cap cost of 1540 is not. In order for me to live with my MP I needed to do it. Cant see paying over $500 for the car. Im going to ask the insurance rep again for all of the details. Im just happy the car is in the process of being ordered, cant wait!

Could you please evaluate this lease deal: Good/Fair

Ordered a 330i with a sticker of $46,290
Price of car: $44,138
Driveoffs: $1102.24/Cap Reduction $2,897.76
Term of 48 months, 12k per year money of .00226 (Outside leasing company and was adjusted up from .00206) He indicated the finance department would not let him negotiate this. Did not get the residual.
Total payment: $582.63 including tax. The one part that was confusing is he added the acquisition fee back on to the price of the car, and did not include that in total driveoffs. Would I be better off going the other way. Did the good price I get on the car go out the door because of the higher money factor.
Thanks for your time and help!

UPDATE.

I've been looking at various BMW enthusiast sites and what people have been saying is that the dealers in Northern California are particularly aggressive. Apparently, BMW of fremont is willing to deal at $500-750 above invoice. If I have to order the car, perhaps he can have it shipped directly to me?

Realize:
msrp: 45,695
invoice: 41,870

The difference is $3,825. The best I can get in TX is $1k off sticker. If I can get $500 over invoice. I'm saving $2300+.

I agree with the other poster, urnuts, it should be easy for the dealer to simply order my car. I think for processing my paperwork, $500 is a pretty good deal. Some of the other poster seemed like they work for BMW dealerships... I mean, come on, what's the logic : if they don't sell too many cars, they wouldn't want to make an easy profit off a pre-sold car? I don't know, but it seems unlikely. Esp. b/c it seems that all the dealers I've asked about ordering seem to require nonrefundable deposits of at least $1k. And not many walk away from that.

For my money, I want the best price, period. Let the dealership make its money off the other impulsive shoppers who overpay, but not me.

Just for reference, I've helped family buy at different times, a loaded passat and a loaded escalade esv for well under invoice. ($2.5 under for the passat, and $1.5 under for the escalade).

After all, while it's great to have a new car. It's also important to feel that you got a good deal. It'd make me upset to know that I paid only $1k off sticker, but if I had been a little bit more patient and thorough, could have paid $2300 less. I think it's entirely feasible not to pay more than $500 over invoice for this car. One dealer will want the easy money...

Well... not knowing the residual, it is hard to make an educated assessment of your lease.. But, I'm not surprised they went with an outside leasing company, as the 48 month BMWFS leases aren't very good....

1) Nothing wrong with adding the acquisition fee into the cap cost...

2) Generally, you are better off not making a big cap cost reduction... I realize it lowers your payment, but it really doesn't do much to lower your total cash outlay over the four years..

3) Not knowing the exact lease numbers... I'm still surprised they didn't try to put you in a BMWFS lease for 3 years... From what I can tell, they could offer you a slightly lower payment, if you went with the three year term.. It makes me wonder if they are hiding some large profit margins in that 4 year lease..

Glad I'm not the only one who wonders who among us works at a dealership, and who does not.
Whoever replid to my post assumed every scenario possible that would not favor the dealer- from my financing, to my down payment, to my intention to complate the deal. Wow.
Anyway........... How about a non-refundable check for $10,000 & I finance through BMW and the dealer (!)- now can they order me a car and cut me a better deal?
I'll make my offer tomorrow on an ordered 330i; Leather, 6-speed & sport. Arctic w/ beige or tan. I'll shoot for $2K off sticker- that seems pretty good, but not unheard of. If they can find the car somewhere, great. I was told that the delivery time if I order now will be 4-6 weeks if they have a slot in production.
I'm in business- and an easy deal is, well, an easy deal. Make my life easy, and I'll make it worth your while. I sell pizza, makes no difference. A pre-sold car means you start the month out with 1 car already sold.

And, to jack my own reply. Good point about the "other" morons with more money and impatience than brains- let the dealers make their MSRP (or MSRP+) on them and a few less on us, or me.
Dealer once said- "I'm only making $XXX on this deal" Fine- you nailed the guy who just drove out of here for full sticker, and the foolish old lady last week for MSRP, plus paint, fabric and rust...... You should have NO problem making just $500 on me!
I sell large Pepperoni pizzas to people for $14, $10 and $8. Same pizza, same service.
$14 is when you walk in and say "large Pepperoni" (menu price).
$10 is when you walk in, grab some coupons, look them over and say "I'd like the $10 deal, please"
$8 is when you actually look at the offers I send in the mail, put on pizza box, etc.
I'd like to sell the pizza to everybody for the same price- doesn't work that way, though. So, the $14 is subsidizing the $8 guy, to a certain degree. Rest assured, I'll take your $8, smile and say "Thanks, have a nice night".
If the difference in price is not important to you, may god bless you! And there are people like that- I suggest they look at the coupons. "no, that's ok" God bless!
Well, when I get my 330i, I want the $8 car, and I'll look for the coupons, 'cause the guy who just left the lot paid $14! Yes, I'm done!

That, sir, is a fantastic post.

I'll never get why people come in here and ask what others are paying for the car. My private valuation is all that matters...the first 200 buyers may have paid 3k over invoice. I still want the car for $100 over (unless there's a rebate and then I want a better deal).
