Replying to: ckm1515 (Oct 26, 2005 11:58 am) But, if you are leasing, the total cash outlay is the most important thing.. Just know that the .0004 bump in the money factor is adding $25-$30 per month to your payment.. regards, kyfdx |

Could you please evaluate this lease deal: Good/Fair Ordered a 330i with a sticker of $46,290 Price of car: $44,138 Driveoffs: $1102.24/Cap Reduction $2,897.76 Term of 48 months, 12k per year money of .00226 (Outside leasing company and was adjusted up from .00206) He indicated the finance department would not let him negotiate this. Did not get the residual. Total payment: $582.63 including tax. The one part that was confusing is he added the acquisition fee back on to the price of the car, and did not include that in total driveoffs. Would I be better off going the other way. Did the good price I get on the car go out the door because of the higher money factor. Thanks for your time and help!

Apparently, BMW of fremont is willing to deal at $500-750 above invoice. If I have to order the car, perhaps he can have it shipped directly to me? Realize: msrp: 45,695 invoice: 41,870 The difference is $3,825. The best I can get in TX is $1k off sticker. If I can get $500 over invoice. I'm saving $2300+. I agree with the other poster, urnuts, it should be easy for the dealer to simply order my car. I think for processing my paperwork, $500 is a pretty good deal. Some of the other poster seemed like they work for BMW dealerships... I mean, come on, what's the logic : if they don't sell too many cars, they wouldn't want to make an easy profit off a pre-sold car? I don't know, but it seems unlikely. Esp. b/c it seems that all the dealers I've asked about ordering seem to require nonrefundable deposits of at least $1k. And not many walk away from that. For my money, I want the best price, period. Let the dealership make its money off the other impulsive shoppers who overpay, but not me. Just for reference, I've helped family buy at different times, a loaded passat and a loaded escalade esv for well under invoice. ($2.5 under for the passat, and $1.5 under for the escalade). After all, while it's great to have a new car. It's also important to feel that you got a good deal. It'd make me upset to know that I paid only $1k off sticker, but if I had been a little bit more patient and thorough, could have paid $2300 less. I think it's entirely feasible not to pay more than $500 over invoice for this car. One dealer will want the easy money... |

Replying to: max63 (Oct 26, 2005 4:38 pm) 1) Nothing wrong with adding the acquisition fee into the cap cost... 2) Generally, you are better off not making a big cap cost reduction... I realize it lowers your payment, but it really doesn't do much to lower your total cash outlay over the four years.. 3) Not knowing the exact lease numbers... I'm still surprised they didn't try to put you in a BMWFS lease for 3 years... From what I can tell, they could offer you a slightly lower payment, if you went with the three year term.. It makes me wonder if they are hiding some large profit margins in that 4 year lease.. regards, kyfdx

Wow. Anyway........... How about a non-refundable check for $10,000 & I finance through BMW and the dealer (!)- now can they order me a car and cut me a better deal? I'll make my offer tomorrow on an ordered 330i; Leather, 6-speed & sport. Arctic w/ beige or tan. I'll shoot for $2K off sticker- that seems pretty good, but not unheard of. If they can find the car somewhere, great. I was told that the delivery time if I order now will be 4-6 weeks if they have a slot in production. I'm in business- and an easy deal is, well, an easy deal. Make my life easy, and I'll make it worth your while. I sell pizza, makes no difference. A pre-sold car means you start the month out with 1 car already sold.
