I recently ordered a 2006 330xi due to arrive in the port in NJ mid Nov. I spoke with my CA yesterday and the LRF's for 330xi are currently .00265 (down from .00275) and the resid increased to 61%. However, now in NJ, you are taxed on the total amounts of your payments vs. the depreciation, therefore, this savings is offset. I'm pretty sure the LRF for a standard 330 is .00250

.00265 is a marked up money factor... The base money factor for the 330xi is only .00225 ..... The 330i has the same residual and money factor as the 330xi for this term, this month...

The 61% Residual is correct for 3yr/45K...

is a LRF of .00265 to high? How can I get the .00225 rate factor?

You have to ask for it.. just like you ask for anything else in a car deal.. It is all part of the negotiation.. Some dealers won't lease at the base rate, and some will..

But, if you are leasing, the total cash outlay is the most important thing.. Just know that the .0004 bump in the money factor is adding $25-$30 per month to your payment..

Appreciate the info. Dealership knocked off about $1,900 off MSRP on a fairly loaded 2006 330xi - payment at an LRF of .00265 is currently about $670 at 3 years/45K. Total money down is approximately $1,300. If I can get payment down to about $650, more money in my pocket.

Yeah.. that is a pretty healthy discount from MSRP for a car that has only just come out...

You have to balance everything.... If they only knocked $1000 off the price, but gave you the base rate, you'd be in the same place....

But, it doesn't hurt to ask for more..

MSRP was $45,395. Gave to me at $43,595.00. You are right, if I don't ask, I'll never know. Will consult with my CA tomorrow. Can't be any worse off than I am now. Overall, think I got a pretty healthy deal for a car that just came out. Total DP was $1,700 which included 1st month payment, bank fee, DMV and doc fees. Payment roughtly $678.00 - no sec deposit as this is my 3rd BMW. I've consulted a few friends and appears I have a pretty good deal.

I actually was informed that the taxes are covered, but my cap cost of 1540 is not. In order for me to live with my MP I needed to do it. Cant see paying over $500 for the car. Im going to ask the insurance rep again for all of the details. Im just happy the car is in the process of being ordered, cant wait!

Question for kyfdx by max63

Could you please evaluate this lease deal: Good/Fair

Ordered a 330i with a sticker of $46,290
Price of car: $44,138
Driveoffs: $1102.24/Cap Reduction $2,897.76
Term of 48 months, 12k per year money of .00226 (Outside leasing company and was adjusted up from .00206) He indicated the finance department would not let him negotiate this. Did not get the residual.
Total payment: $582.63 including tax. The one part that was confusing is he added the acquisition fee back on to the price of the car, and did not include that in total driveoffs. Would I be better off going the other way. Did the good price I get on the car go out the door because of the higher money factor.
Thanks for your time and help!
