2006 330i just ordered!! by ad42197

Just drove the sport 330i and the std 330i. The sport has a better feel of the road and handles sharper. The difference in stiffness was not felt much by me or my wife. A slight difference but nothing we could noticeably tell. The car has great pickup and sounds awesome when punching the accelerator. The steptronic is easy to use. The sport seats were a bit smaller since I am a big guy but nothing to defer me from getting the sport pack.

Tell me if this is a good deal:
Sparkling Graphite Metallic
Automatic, Htd Seats, BMW Assist, Sport Package
MSRP 41,895
Price Paid 40, 095
.63 residual, .00225 MF $5000 out of pocket for taxes, cap cost red, first month, sec deposit, title & reg. Monthly Pmt 483.94.

Thanks. Cant wait till it arrives in early December!

..**My logic would dictate that a special order car for a customer**

**money down**: What money down.? .. $500/$1,500..? .. a dealer needs to get a non-refundable security deposit just in case a buyer switches to another vehicle like an Acura, Prius, they get transferred or they get tired of waiting and buy a blue one with green stripes from another dealer - and it happens everyday.

**financing all set**: That means nothing to the dealer .. they lose their reserve of $150/$250

**no-brainer for the dealer,
The damn thing is sold before it even comes off the truck!**:

Until it's sold, delivered, they scratch off the MSO and get their money from the lender, the dealer has nothing but a "maybe" .... in the meantime, the dealer starts paying floorplan on the vehicle the day the "dated" invoice hits the dealer and thats usually around 1/3 weeks before the vehicle actually hits the ground - at that time they are paying a quarter point over Prime, so the clock is ticking away the profit before it hits the lot ....

When it gets off the transport the customer is notified, it's PDI'd (serviced) and detailed .... usually as an average, the dealer is looking at 48/72 hrs by the time the customer gets time off work and they get their final $$ ... and you would be **amazed** how many times a customer will have a personal check, credit card or something of unacceptable means that the dealer has to wait for .....

I understand, and "you" understand that you're going to spend $35k ... but the dealer only see's $500 of it .. but you want the dealer to make $500 - and then pay his service, sales staff and the lights ..... think about it, how often would you do it..? ....

Hi Chipzar. I also recently purchased a 2006 325i and I love the car - but my dealer can't figure out how to get my Treo 650 fully functional.

I can accept calls through the bluetooth in the car, but I can't dial out unless it's from the phone and my address book will not download.

Did your dealer have to get special instuctions to hook yours up? Would you mind sharing whatever your dealer did to get yours up and running?

Thanks so much,
clborl

You might try the Dealer in Temple,. but to be honest there are no "great" deals to be had in TX. Its just a fact . IF your willing to drive to NJ or Cali you might save another 1k, if its worth it too you..... Good luck

Drive to another state?????????? No offense but what are you thinkin? Thats when you really need to ask yourself how much is your time worth? I'm not a millionaire or anything like that and nowadays car buying is more of a pride and principal thing, but I'm not gonna spend more than a few hours dedicated to buying a car. I refuse to go from dealer to dealer and waste time to for a measly few hundred dollars and be able to say, "damn I got a great deal, I lost an entire day, but hey I saved 200 dollars. Granted I will have done some homework but come on, this isn't some dingy old used car lot where you can't trust anyone. Take into consideration BMW has no hold back, check for factory incentives, see the difference between invoice an MSRP and meet somewhere in the middle.

Maybe thats just me.

ad42197..

It is kind of hard to evaluate your deal, when you have a big chunk upfront like $5000, and it isn't broken down... You say you have a cap cost reduction involved, but you don't say how much.. It looks like about $1500 of it went to a cap cost reduction..

That said, you got an $1800 discount from MSRP, and the dealer is using the base rates (we think)... I always like to roll the taxes and fees into the lease... but, if there is nothing extra in your deal, it looks fair..

kyfdx

Thanks! They did use the base rates .00225 MF and .63 res. that I found here in this forum. I was sure of that. The $5000 included the cap cost of $1540 just as you indicate. I figured this was a good deal since I had a good friend of mine call the dealer since he is family with the sales manager. It worked out to be $1800 off and the sales person made it clear that this deal would not be done unless I knew someone. He said these cars are so poulare that the most they would consider discounting was 800-1000 depending if the car was on the lot, etc. Here in LI there is a lot of demand for the new 3 and all BMW's in general and everyone seems to have the money to keep buying them up. He did say in other parts of the country you can get better deals but not here. I thought of doing ED but figured I'd wait until I buy a more expensive car and my wife and I are ready to travel to Europe. I was happy with the price and but I wanted to see what everyone thought.

5k down is quite a bit for a lease. You do realize if that car gets totalled or stolen the day after you take ownership of it you're out that dough?

Part of the draw of leasing - you've got no capital tied up in the leased vehicle.

Just wondering how other people in this area are doing on their deals. I was quoted $1K off sticker from West German as an opening offer, but I know I can do better. Is anyone getting down to roughly $1500 above invoice? Thanks in advance!!!

Also, when do the November MF and Residuals come out? Anyone have any thoughts on whether they will better, the same, or worse than October? RE
