Lease a 2006 325i? by marko959

Since I can't really afford to purchase a BMW, I'm thinking about leasing. However, I noticed that they want a crapload of money down. Are they stringent on this or is it negotiable?

I also have a trade-in that I'm upside down on (2002 Camaro Z28). I've had it for sale for 2 months. Is there any chance that dealers vary on how much they will give you on your trade? Seems like the dealerships I have dealt with in the past all seem to have the same playbook. They rarely vary in their offers by more than $200-300.

Thanks

Lease Variables on 2006 325i by mooselook

Hi!
I've narrowed down the "short list" between a 325i and an Audi A4 and I'm trying to compare the lease deals. For the BMW, I configured a 2006 325i with an MSRP of $36,770. I live in NJ.
Can you tell me what I might expect to get off MSRP, what the money factor and residual might be, and finally, what the pre tax monthly payment might be (no cap cost reduction, 36 months, 15,000 mi/year.) ?
Thank you!!!

Regards,

Leasing is just an alternative means of financing.. Though the monthly payment may be lower, the actual cost of owning and operating the vehicle is the same.. A good rule of thumb: If you can't afford to buy it, you can't afford to lease it.

Most dealerships price trade-ins according to what they are bringing at auction.. That is why you see similar offers.... they are reading the same auction reports... That is what your car is actually worth to them, and it is doubtful you'll be able to get much more than that..

If you are upside down, you are usually better off to keep the car, and make payments until that is no longer the case.. If you haven't been able to sell your car yourself in two months, then you are likely asking too much.

As to your first question.... Most leases can be structured with little or no money down... Of course, that will mean a larger monthly payment than a lease with a large downpayment.

Good price for 06 325i or wait for 330i w/comfort access? by jze

06 325i w/premium, cold weather, auto transmission and Satellite radio prep for $2,000 off MSRP at $34,770. Is this a good buy?

Prefer to have comfort access and need to have a car latest by end of Oct. Is a 06 330i w/premium, cold weather, auto transmission and Satellite radio prep worth the wait for $1350 off MSRP at $41,470 with 330i upgrade?

Appreciate advice so that can proceed with first BMW purchase

Thanks

I can't keep the car because the seat is killing my back. Plus I have pesonal reasons for wanting rid of it. I bought it at a bad point in my life and every time I look at it, I'm reminded of it. Sorry for the psycho-babble.

I worded it wrong when I said I can't afford the 325. I should have said that the monthly payments of a purchase were more than I wanted to spend, especially when I can't put anything down on it. I don't want to take out a 6 year loan. A 3 year lease would be good because I usually get sick of a car in that amount of time anyway.

Thanks

Congratulations, that is a great price! It is only $250 above dealer invoice and there is no manufacturer's hold-back on BMWs.

Let me make a comparison to the deal I just cut. We are getting the identical car: 2006 E90 330i w/ Premium, ZSP and heated seated ($41,770 MSRP). The car has about 500 demo miles. I was offered $39,487 and I thought I got a great deal until I read your offer

One difference is my situation is that I am trading-in two cars to purchase the E90. Well, they have to make their money somewhere.
If I had custom ordered a car the dealer would have only knocked about $500 off the MSRP.

2006 330i Discount from MSRP? by temceo

I am about to purchase/place an order for a 2006 300i. With the options I have selected the MSRP is $45,515; invoice price is $41,705. When negotiating price with dealers, what % discount from MSRP should I be able to negotiate? Any tips on negotiating price? I plan on paying cash for the car, no trade in.

Thanks

Ok, here is what i have:

2006 330i Sparkling Graphite Metallic/Beige interior with poplar or wood trim
Automatic transmission
Comfort Access
Satellite Radio

MSRP of $39,545.00 Sale Priced at $38,795.00

Lease: 36 months/12k miles

$832 downpayment for a monthly payment of $601 + tax

Does this look like a good deal? Should I try to negotiate lower? Does it matter if I lease or buy? Thanks.

Does anyone know the BMW number that will tell you the status of your order? I'm using the owners circle web site and am tracking that way but I've read about a number you can call and use the VIN or production number to access the status. Also... just ordered a 325xi (Cold Weather - Premium Package - Metallic Paint - Navigation - Comfort Access - Auto Transmission) and was told by the dealer to expect it mid to late October. What are the chances of that?

I just priced a 2005 330ci on Edmunds. The MSRP with my options was $46,770; the dealer invoice was $42,855;and, the TMV was $41,695? Is Edmunds wrong or is there a dealer incentive on the "old" 330ci's?
