I hear that these are only installed once they arrive at the dealership, so it stands to reason that if the dealership was rushed to get your car out of the door, something was left undone. How did (do) you know the lights were malfunctioning? BMW-Greenwich won't be able to do the inspection for you -- they tried for me, but no-go. You'll have to do it at a location in NYS. Should only take a few minutes. Let the sales agent know that you've not yet submitted an evaluation of his performance (BMW will call you or send you a survey) and that if he wants "5"s he has to make it right!

My car also did not come with an emergency kit, but it is not clear to me that it should. It is one of those * items in the owner's manual. Are you sure that we're supposed to have it? Which package does it come with, or is it standard on the 330? Oddly, BMW of Greenwich's service center is located in NY (Portchester) even though their sales center is located in CT (Greenwich). So the service center does NYS inspections. My CA is such a newbie. He's had some screwups, as you might expect. If I'm being honest, I would not give him 5s. But he's a real nice guy and I'd like to do my small part (even if I'm not being completely honest) to give him an opportunity to score some extra cash or whatever other benefits CAs derive from 5s. Today I received in the mail a thank you note and a small gift - a New 3 mousepad. I had admired the one on his desk and asked about getting one. Apparently it is not an official BMW accessory and was therefore difficult to obtain.

last Friday i got a flat tire 100 miles from home. Waited 2 hrs for Assist's tow truck. The guy didnt know how to hook it up so i drove the car to the dealer closest to home. Picked up the car on Tuesday. When i got home the freakin indicator was on. I checked and didnt see any nails- it was too dark to see. So i checked again next morning- no nails. I found out there was an air leak in the tire they replaced. There's a piece of crumbled up rubber sticking out where the Wheel meets the tire. So i had to have my car towed to that dealer again. Frankly im getting very tired of this. ONly had my car for 2 weeks. It's too much hassle just for ONE tire. The tow guy opened up that Square cap on the front of the vehicle and put some knicks on it- tiny knicks though. Oh and the service Advisor called me up today and told me i owe them $35 for the tire. Turned out that the Tire& Wheel warranty can get it for less. THe dealer marked it up so i have to pay the diff. I didnt though. Honestly this is the first BMW experience and i am getting furious. I know there's not pt in getting all pissy but i am. Maybe we can MAKE BMW put spares in their cars |

Replying to: vsaxena (Sep 07, 2005 4:13 pm) However, it worries me that I just read some negative comments (from this forum) about the guy I'm working with now. (Part of the name is disguised but there are enough clues for me to recognize the salesperson.)

Replying to: davidd3 (Sep 07, 2005 7:22 pm) Alarm ... hmm. You may be in my boat and not have an alarm (audible). Do you have iDrive? If so, one way to check is to look at the Confirm Locking menu under Vehicle Settings: if you see only two items (instead of three, wich includes an option to have an acoustic alert when you lock the car), then you probably don't have an alarm installed. I think it's page 34 or 131 of the manual. A first aid kit is supposed to be in the car, and I believe a road-side assistance bag is, too. They are providing me with both, and I can't see why they would unless it was owed to me in the first place. You're right -- the repair center is in NY! Why didn't I think of that?? At anyrate, they said they couldn't do the inspection. I will have to follow up on that. I'd like to believe everyone is doing their best there. I understand it's a business and they have to make $. And I don't mind paying (obviously) a good amount of $ for a good product; what I do mind is the amount of my time being eaten up with this constant back-and-forth. (I can always make more $, but lost time with family and friends can't be recovered, if you know what I mean). ... I do have to say, though, the ride's (almost) worth it!
