According to the new 2013 price list, and options list, xenon headlights can be had as a stand alone separate option for $900. No other item or package is required.
That's a great decision on BMW's part.

Also, all base 3 series for 21013 will receive standard items that were part of packages and stand alone options.
These are some. Remember, 335i's had items there are standard on the 335i but not on the 328i.
Standard on all 3's, 328i and 335i
Universal garage door opener
Floor mats
Auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors
Auto dimming rear view mirror
Power front seats w/driver seat memory
Split & fold down rear seat

There are great standard additions.
Many of those items were included in the 335i, but optional in the 328i.
Due to the added standard features, 328i base price has gone up by $1600. 335i base price goes up by $400.

This is a big increase, especially for the 328i, but consider that many of the added items would normally be added by customers anyway, and may even cost more overall as one would have to buy a whole package to get certain items. Xenon's, though not standard, are now only a $900 option that does not require getting the premium package.

Also, when you add some packages and options the price difference becomes smaller. I compared a 2012 328i sport line to a 2013 328i sport line. With the same options in both cars, price difference was a more reasonable $550.

Although the xenon headlight is standalone for $900, it doesn't include the high beam assistant which was part of the xenon headlight bundle in 2012. You will have to pay $250 to get this feature.

#11658 of 11958 Even MORE expensive in 2013? by rmpierce1

Great. They've taken a car that is already too expensive, and before anybody can even get one, have made it even MORE expensive. I know this is still the best sports sedan in the world, but I think BMW is going to regret taking the price so far upscale. When the 3-series was a little more expensive than a C-Class, A4, or a CTS, it was still a bargain. But, now that it stickers for thousands more, with virtually no wiggle room off the sticker when the others have incentives and better deals, I can see M-B, Audi, and Cadillac taking market share.

I haven't driven a 2012 3-series yet, but I've driven the other three, and they are all very good cars. And, with discounts and attractive leases, they will be at least $100-150/mo less expensive comparably equipped. And,...you can't even get the new 3-series in AWD.

That leads me to my other rant. I live in Pittsburgh, and have seen exactly ONE new 3-series on the road. One. Why? Nearly all of the 3-series sold in this part of the country are AWD. You can't even test drive a RWD version, as nobody has one. My guess is that people aren't ordering it around here, because they can't order AWD. I had a RWD 2002 325 for seven years. I LOVED it. Then, we moved into a house with a steep driveway, and I had to trade it because I couldn't get up the driveway with an inch of snow on the ground. I need a new car in November 2012, when my Infinity lease is up. I'm not even sure I can consider this car, as it would have to be ordered by August to ensure delivery, and the AWD may not even be available by then.

I used to love BMW. Now, I am kind of hating them.

I ordered a 2012 BMW 328i today! I will get it in 8-10 weeks from Germany. I have had many lease experiences that include, Audi, Mercedes, Volvo, Cadillac, GM. My experience at the BMW dealership was perhaps the best experience I have had. I went to order the car today and was given a $1000 Olympic Rebate. I used it as my drive off... The deal below was no money out of pocket. Amazing!

Here are my details...
12K 36 months
Money Factor: .0019 (4.56%)
Residual: 64%
Arctic White
Sport Line
Interior: Leather Everest Grey
Premium Sound
Premium Package
Heated Seats
Enhanced Blue Tooth
MSRP: $43,995
My Price: $41,950
Net Cap Cost: $42,450 (Turning in my C300)

Monthly Payment Including Tax: $575

I have to be patient for 8-10 weeks but in the end I get EXACTLY what I want at a price I can afford!

#11662 of 11958 2011 335i by rfthomas

Got a quote for a 2011 335i RWD MSRP $52,275. I am in the process of getting a list of all the options from the dealer but looks like premium/nav/sport/cold at a minimum. They had discounted $6580 to $45,695 and today offered another $2500 to $43,195. Am I crazy for not jumping on this or are others seeing discounts like this on the 2011's?

I haven't thrown any darts at the board...yet. I will when the 2013 3 series comes out. I will treat the transaction like it is a used 2011. Late Summer is the target.
I am expecting $15k off sticker. It's what an '11 is worth off the lot at this point. And will be worth less (not worthless;) with every new '13 sold! Let me know if you have any new information in your dealings vg

#11664 of 11958 2013 328i ordered by jeffreyfu

Jun 14, 2012 (2:53 pm)

Just ordered 2013 328i with Technology and Lighting Package. MSRP is $41395. Invoice is $38320. My price is $37700+ttl. About 9% off MSRP.
Don't need the premium package because many features are standard in 2013 and not required to order the Xenon. Technology package is actually $350 cheaper in 2013 comparing to 2012 so I ordered it.
