Dealer says I have to get the end of lease inspection done, and may potentially owe the cost of new tires (if it is found that the tires are worn out more than what's allowed) EVEN if I decide to buy out at the end of the lease ..... if I am going to own the car then this really does not make sense to me. I am free to change the tires when I want.
Is this typical ?

check what the dealer, NOT BMWFS will sell you the car for.

If you buy the car out directly from BMWFS, then you will have no end-of-lease wear and tear charges...
If you negotiate a lower price from the dealer, then they have to buy the car from BMWFS, first... which basically means you turned it back in... and then those charges apply...

Car Man or Kyfdx, please let me know if this is a good LEASE deal. I live in Seattle. Excuse me for cutting and pasting. The drive certificate is just some promotional thing I got for going to this Oympic support event at the dealership. Would really appreciate your expert advise which helped me a lot with my last purchase.
VEHICLE
Vehicle: 2011 BMW 3-SERIES 1143 4dr Sdn 335xi
Stock #:
VIN:
Miles: 8
PURCHASE OPTION
Vehicle Price: $52,700.00
Preferred Customer Discount: $2,500.00
AWD CREDIT: $1,840.00
DRIVE CERTIFICATE: $1,000.00
Total Selling Price: $47,360.00
Sales Tax (estimate): + $4,641.28
Tag/Registration Fees (estimate): + $203.25
Documentation Fee: + $150.00
Balance Due (estimate): $52,354.53
No Trade-In
LEASE OPTIONS
Cash Due 36 months
Rebates: $750
12,000 Miles
$1,082 $655 - I would do this option.
$3,000 $597
$5,000 $535
The payments have the sales tax included.
The cap cost (sale price) is $46,610 after all of the discounts are factored in, including the $750 lease cash currently being offered. There is a $925 acquisition fee that BMW charges added back in to the cap cost. so a net cap of $47,535.
Residual is 60% of the MSRP or $31,620
The money factor is .00195
The up front money is your first monthly payment, license fee, doc fee and tax on the $750 rebate ($73.50)
Thanks in advance for your help!!

1) The base acq.fee is $725.. the dealer is marking up the maximum allowable $200 for extra profit (typical)
2) I show the base MF for the 335xi sedan as .00175.. If you are a returning customer, the loyalty rate is .00145.. It looks like they are marking up your rate for extra profit.. If you aren't a returning customer, and aren't making a security deposit (.00015 bump for that), then they aren't marking it up much...
3) On your first option, I calculate $596/mo.+ tax.. The payment looks correct with those parameters if your sales tax is nearly 10%.. That's assuming your state taxes the monthly payment..

kyfdx

Thanks for the fast reply. This is their initial offer. I am a returning customer, many times returning. Tax is nearly 10% in Washington. 3 questions. So you are ok witht he cap cost? Should I be getting .00145 without question if credit rating is great etc? How much would that reduce my monthly payment? Or another way of asking is what should my monthly payment be with .00145 not including tax even if I pay the extra $200 acq. fee?
Thanks for all your help.
