So, is it worth me cancelling the original warranty that I just purchased through my dealership 7 yr, 100K for $1280 (which was part of financing) and getting the same thing for $180 less?
Having it financed makes it bit of a sticky-wicket
It depends on the bank, but most credit your account with the refund and it comes off the "back end" of the loan. So you pay the same payment as you would with the HC financed in, but at the end of the loan you will owe fewer payments. Some banks could re-do the loan so you pay the same number of payments, but less each month. From what I have heard, the first method is the one Honda Financial uses.

Dragnet(8 to 5 except on weekends?),
Suggest you scroll up about 20 messages or so for details. Bernardi IS aka hondawarrantyinfo.com as I just learned. I believe they're in PA but it looks like most of their biz is done online.

#767 of 3848 The Difference in Honda Care Price is large depending on where you buy?
Nov 19, 2005 (7:23 am)
My ordered car just arrived at the dealership. I ask for Honda Care Extended Warranty. I got a quote from the dealer I bought the car from for $1650 for 8 years and 120,000 miles. Now on the Internet I found a Jayhonda.com
who is selling the same thing for $945, a difference of $700. The cheaper price that they charge me on the car they are trying to make it back from the warranty. Is this Jayhonda.com a legitimate dealer? Can Honda care be bought on the Internet? Also HondaCareWarranty.com has promotions that save up to $255. Can this be applied to the Dealer's proposed price? Any information would be helpful. The dealer is pressing me to make a decision very fast.

Nortsr1 - Thank you for saying what should be said more often.
Newcomers & Oldies alike,
Chances are, you are not the first one to have a question or a problem. Many before you have gone through or asked the very same thing. There's nothing wrong with asking but do yourself a favor. Back up for say 10-20 pages of posts, and if you can't find an answer in even 5 or 10 minutes, then ask. Edmunds search tools aren't Google and we're not expecting miracles. It's just that some of these same issues were gone over in the past week. Please don't be surprised if you get a response of see post #___. Not negative here, just tired of reruns.
Glad to help!

There are several legitimate Honda dealers selling Honda Care much less than dealers via the Internet. I bought mine from Bernardi Honda www.hondawarrantyinfo.com. I found Bernardi to be honest and straightforward.
#772 of 3848 My new Honda Dealer quote $1600 for 12year/12000mile warranttee for 06Civic
Nov 19, 2005 (7:41 pm)
I read many messages on this Forum, and found quotes close to $1000 and below for Honda Care for a brand new Honda automobile, even for an 06 Accord.
But I have a dealer who has a lot of credibility with me trying to sell me a $1600 12year/12000mile zero deductible warranttee for Honda Care.
It is for a Honda Civic 06 EX with Manual and Navi.
This same dealer had ordered the car for me at a reasonable price.
I have been told that this offer of Honda Care by them is the real McCoy. The lesser prices that the other dealers charge have a catch to it, and I should just buy this warranttee from this one dealer, who is delivering to me my new car.
The is still with the dealer today, it does not have a license plate ready for it yet, for me to drive it out today.
Should I go for it? Or this is a case of being a fool with money that soon be parted with, when there are real chances to save it? Could it be that the dealer is trying to recoop the good price that he sold this car to me. (I paid about 7 to 8 hundred above invoice. Others I am told are paying MSRP for 06 Civics.)
Please help. Manny

The choice is obviously yours but the fool and his money cliche' does apply. The warranty that you can buy for your Civic online from Bernardi/hondawarrantyinfo.com is the genuine HondaCare Extended Warranty, accept nothing less.
Your well respected dealer is trying to make a profit, at least $600 more than most. If you look around here and in the prices paid forum you'll see that some dealers matched Bernardi's price at the time of purchase or lost the warranty sale. Of course he wants to protect and maximize profit, that's what he does for a living. You aren't buying him, you're buying a car with a decent extended warranty. As long as you get HondaCare, there is no catch!
