Warranties sold with the first 6,000 miles of vehicle usage get you the maximum value. And you get free roadside assistance from the time you purchase the warranty which is like a $50/year value compared to AAA. |

Hello everrybody, I am about to buy a 2006 EX-L Honda pilot. It has only 25000 miles on it. I have two questions about the vehicle. 1) It is more than 36 months old so what options do I have to buy extended warranty. The dealer quoted me $ 2300 for 7 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. The vehicle does come with 7 year 100,000 power train warranty. 2) One of the door is missing the Vin number does that mean the vehicle was in an accident.I checked the car fa it is clear. thank you very mcuh regards Ranjit Mulay

Check out the company who is providing the warranty your dealership is offering very closely. Some people have difficulty with the third party companies.

I bought a honda 2009 few days back with warrantry. The dealer offered me a 3rd party warrntry and said it would cover evertying but when I read their contract after coming home. I realize that there are huge number of clauses that could not cover most kind of repairs. Also I read their contract and I can cancel their warantry before 60 days at no cost. I am in sacramento area, I would like to find out how to go about getting Extended warrantry from Honda (not third Party). I would appreciate your help

I would appreciate your help Some online dealers don't sell to California. However, this College Hills Honda does not say anything about restrictions to sales in California. http://www.collegehillshonda.com/hondacare/warranty.htm

Has anyone heard anything about new pricing for Honda Care product going into effect April 1, 2009? There is something up on Saccucci Honda about price increases April 1 (though I think there was a similar claim for Jan 1 with no price increase). Thanks, mkielm |

I (for one) appreciate your thanks, and it sounds like you saved a considerable amount of money, but I think you could have done even better. How much was the zero-deductible warranty? I love Saccucci Honda, but the last time I looked at their site their zero-deductible warranty only cost $100 more than their $100-deductible warranty. Thus, I consider Saccucci's pricing structure to be something of an intelligence test and/or a gentle trap for the unwary. Let's do the math: You go in for a covered repair and it costs you $100. Now you're at break-even with the cost of the zero-deductible warranty. Later you go in for another covered repair and pay another $100, and now you're $100 behind. Every time you go in for a covered repair you fall behind an additional $100. Not only is it costing you a lot more, but you now have a disincentive to getting your car repaired and you are more likely to "accept" the problems without getting them fixed. With that sort of pricing structure I can see no real justification for choosing the $100-deductible warranty over the zero-deductible warranty, since the only way you can possibly come out ahead is to never use the warranty at all. |
