I called the dealer and was told it takes 8-10 weeks to get a refund. I have had no problems with this dealer in the over 5 years (8 cars) so I trust their answer. I will patiently wait.

May I ask why you decided to cancel your HondaCare warranty? is it because you found something cheaper or just don't want it at all?

My story for warranty cancellation by guodazhu

Hope this will help others if they want to buy a warranty from the dealer on ground.
I bought a 06 Honda Pilot at Jim Coleman at MD last year. Everything was so smooth until we met the financial manager. He finally persuade me to buy a 7years/100,000miles warranty with GPR (guaranteed price refund). He said if we do not have any claim we would get a full refund when the policy expires or I can cancel that any time for a service fee of $50. The total cost is $1,650 with $100 deductible for each claim (I know a lot of you would laugh at me for such a high price.) Since I felt comfortable to cancel that with another 50 bucks, I was in. After I read all posts on this forum, I decided to cancel that. It was a long story and I got my money back several days ago. However, guess what? They charged me $180. They said it is the GPR option fee; it was nonrefundable. But they never mentioned this when I bought the policy. I read the policy carefully today and it was said " This contract may be canceled and the entire contract purchase price, less any options purchased, will be refunded..." I was trapped in this options although there is nowhere they mentioned GPR is an option for this policy.

Do you guys think I can file a BBB claim. I am fine with the money I should pay, but not those money I was cheated on.

look up consumerprotection resources for MD on web. You can file complaint w/consumer protection bueau may have a different name in MD) and threaten small claims ct. No promises, but dealer probably does not want the hassle over $130.

did you get that info in writing. the reason i am asking is because when i bought the ew i was told i would get a full refund if i cancelled it within 30 days or after the policy expired and i did not put in any claims. otherwise it would be pro-rated. I would also have to pay a $50.00 service fee.

Thanks for all your replies! I got some email and it stated that the $180 is the GPR option fee, nowhere mentioned this on the contract I got.

Yes, I was told I would get a full refund if I canceled within 60 days or after the policy expired and I did not put in any claims. Otherwise, it would be pro-rated with additional $50 after 60 days.
