Replying to: zq8 (Nov 11, 2009 5:42 pm) the oil extractors. I know the big debate is that the extractors really don't remove all the gunk on the bottom of the pan, etc. But since I learned that all the Mercedes dealers are using the extractor, I figure that's O.K. with me.

My wife's Crossfire would not start and the Spoiler extended when she turned on the ignition. I checked out the battery and found the positive lead at the battery was severely corroded, even to the point that the insulation had split and the stranded wires had greatly expanded. So, to disconnect the opposite end of the cable requires removal of a plastic shield. The question is...how to disconnect the shield without damage? |

After 4 years my battery (original from dealership) finally gave up.Trying to replace it I removed the two battery cables (positive, negative). That was easy enough, but when I started to remove the battery itself, I found that it was not coming out. I looked all around the battery and battery location and found no fastener or screws that was holding the battery down. Does any one have any idea on how to remove the battery from the car so I can replace it with a new one. The only hold down I saw was the one on top of the battery, but after removing it, the battery was still not budging. Any ideas what could possibly be holding the battery still. It's really stuck, and unmovable.
