Have 600 miles on it now. 6spd , last tank 24.2 mpg while not babying it.....quite pleased! Great in snow-ice.

Am I reading these tires correctly.....they were + $185 on the sticker....All Season....appear to be "W" rated (168mph)?

You must have been looking at the price of the front tire...because I am sure the rear ones are more expensive than that. ($240?)

Coupe luggage area questions by cmckenzie

I hesitate to post again about some questions I had a week or so ago...but maybe someone new to the forum will know the answers. I have a 2005 Limited Coupe and I wonder what the 2 small posts on the 'trunk' bulkhead are for? Are these for the supposed luggage cover I read about? Where could I find one of these luggage covers?
Also, what about that 5" wide strap that snaps down to the back of the passenger seat headrest? Anyone know what that is about? It is on coupe as well as convertible passenger seats.

Lastly, I see there is an optional adjustable cargo framework that fits down in the 'trunk'. Dealer says it's about $100 but the photo isn't real clear. Does anyone have experience with these? Are they good quality?

The "5 inch strap" is for a child safety seat retention strap. Any accessories for your Crossfire can be purchased from the dealer.

The Crossfire is a niche car it is not for everyone, it is the "love child" of MB and Chrysler. The Crossfire was overpriced to many when introduced, I paid $41,636.00 for my 2005 Roadster Limited in 2004 and have never regretted it. If you bought your Crossfire with the intention of reselling it later, you brought the wrong car. Chrysler had no intentions of building these cars past the 2008 model year. In order for dealers to get the cars that they want they have to take a certain amount of Crossfires. The Crossfire resale values have tanked and based on the price that I paid, Chrysler is basically giving them away. Value is like the old maxim "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" those of us who really love the car know its true value. If you have the oppurtunity to purchase a Crossfire at todays prices whether it is used or brand new you are getting a great deal in my humble opinion.

I think you bought the car for the wrong reasons, flats happen to everyone.....so really not a fair statement...oh and benz oil changes are 210.00 so you are getting a great deal at 120.00.....

I didn't mean I thought they cost $185.00, I was saying that on my new car sticker the tires on mine were an additional $185.00 option.....they are "W" rated All Season. I was just wondering if I'm reading the sidewalls correctly....."W" means rated for 168 mph......

I was a little stunned to read in the owners manual 8.4 quarts of Mobil One.....that stuff's $6.00 -$7.00 a quart. I'll definately let it go till the oil change dash light comes on. I had no idea there were ANY engines that hold 8.4 quarts of oil.

When not racing... by smogdung

I've noticed that with the 6 speed manual you can start out in 2nd gear and it pulls away just fine as long as it's not your intention to race someone or "get on it". It's actually very smooth & probably saves some gas.....The 1-2 shift can be a little clunky unless you rap it out to higher RPMs (close to 3,000 at least). It seems to me this transmission WANTS to be shifted at higher RPMs .....the shifts get smoother at high RPMS.

I've noticed that too. On the rare occasion that I take it out during the snow, starting in 2nd provides a great deal more traction than does 1st. 1-2, 2-3 shifts are pretty clunky on mine, but after that its smooth sailing.
